of Rusk wm at 2 p.m. Sunday at the
Shady Grove CME Church with the
Rev. Tommy Starks, the Rev. Travis
McGowan, the Rev. M. L. Bell and
the Rev. James Wick ware officiat-
ing. Burial was in the Plain view
Cemetery near Pon ta under the di-
rection of Williams Funeral Home.
Mrs. Colston died Wednesday
night in Nan Travis Hospital after a
lengthy illness. She was born June
27,1905, in Ruak and grew up in the
Shady Grove community. She was a
graduate of Fred Douglass High
School and Texas College, where
ahe earned a bachelor of arts de-
gree. She attended Prairieview
A&M University.
She was a member of the Shady
Grove CME Church, where rite sang
in the senior choir and served for
more than 60 years as church secre-
tary. 8he was a member of the Royal
King Chapter No. 371 and of the
Royal Hope Chapter No. 336 and
the Order of the Eastern Star.
Survivors are her husband, John
L. Colston of Rusk; a sister, Obelia
Simmons of Rusk; and a host of
nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Earl Willis, Sam
Earl Willis, Mickey Simmons,
Rickey Simmons, Travis Simmons
and Roosevelt Simmons.
Honorary pallbearers were James

sionary Baptist Church with the
Rev. Don Copeland and the Rev.
Steve Phillips officiating. Burial was
in the Oakland Cemetery under the
direction of Thompson Funeral
Home.
Mrs. Cribbs died Friday in a Rusk
nursing home after a long illness.
She was born Jan. 22, 1904, in
Dialville and had lived most of her
life in Rusk. She was a member of
the Oakland Missionary Baptist
Church.
Survivors are a brother and sis-
ter-in-law, Earl Clayton and Oleta
Thomason ofTyler, five nieces Gloria
Cobb and Carolyn Cozart, both of
Houston and Patsy Blair of
Channelview, Janice Gibson of San
Antonio and Beroice Halbert of
Rusk; and three nephews, John
Thomason of Tyler, Jack King and
Glenn' Stephen Goleman, both of

Stewart, 45, of Rusk, was at 11 a.m.
Thursday in the Bio unta Chapel
Baptist Church with the Rev. James
H. Wickware officiating. Burial was
in Woodville Cemetery under the
direction of Community Funeral
Home.
Mrs. Stewart died May 9 after a
long illness. She was born at Rusk
and was a graduate of Texas Col-
lege. She received a master's degree
at the University of Texas at Tyler
and was a teacher in the Rusk ISD
for 13 years. She was a member of
the Blounts Chapel Baptist Church,
where she served as assistant
church secretary and was a mem-
ber of the youth-adult choirs.
She is survived by her husband,
Elmer B. Stewart of Ruak; two sons,
Tracy Banard Stewart and Darwin
Lamont Stewart of Rusk; a daugh-
ter, Lori Stewart of Ruak; her par-
ents, George and Elsie Colston of
Rusk; a brother, Roy Colston of
Rusk; six sisters, Irene Joyce and
Cylinda Colston of Rusk, Letha
Northcutt of Jefferson, Georgia

Funeral for Myra Jane Dover
Fulton, 44, of Rusk, was held at 2
p.m. Tuesday in the Wallace-Th-
orn peon Funeral Home Chapel with
the Rev. Tommy Mabry and the
Rev. Don Copeland officiating.
Burial was in the Oakland Cem-
etery.
Mr8. Fulton died Sunday morn-
ing in East Texas Medical Center—
Rusk after a sudden illness. She
was born July 12, 1948, in Pales-
tine and had been a Rusk resident
for 25 years. She was a Baptist. She
previously worked at Rusk State
Hospital as a nurses aide before
transferring to TDCJ as correc-
tional officer HI for five years. She
had been a Rusk ISD bus driver for
three years.
She graduated from Maydelle
High School and attended beauti-
cian school in Houston.
She was preceded in death by her
parents, Meredith and Sibyl Dover
and a brother, Thomas Dover.
She is survived by two daughters
and one son-in-law, Sabrina
Michelle and William Covington of
Rusk and Sybil Melaine Fulton of.
Rusk; three grandchildren, Colton
Covington, Billie Lynn Covington
and Cody Covington, all of Rusk;
four brothers, Mack Dover, David
Dover and George Dover, all of Rusk
and Carroll Dover of Diboll; three
sisters, Bonnie Shuptrine of
Kin gaville, Mae Beth Bingham of
Rusk and Mozelle Alexander of
Rusk; one aunt, Nell Fielda of Cen-
ter; and an uncle, T. E. Whitten of
Patroon; and numerous nieces and
nephews and brothers and sisters-
in-law.
Nephews served as pallbearers.
Honorary pallbearers were TDCJ
employees and Rusk ISD bus driv-
ers.

Funeral for Mary Ellen Taylor,
83, of Maydelle, was at 2:30 p.m.
Sunday in the Jeaua Name Pente-
costal Church, Boawell, Okla. with
the Rev. Joe Brooks and the Rev.
Van Wade officiating Burial waa
in boswell cemetery under the di-
rection at Walleoe-lhompeon Fu-
neral Home.
Mra. Taylor died Thuraday
evening at her home after a lengthy
illness. She waa born April 18,
1910, in Holdenville, Okla. She had
lived in Boswell most of ber life and
had been a Maydelle resident for 13
year*. She married Marshall Tay-
lor in Bennington on Dec. 3,1930,
and was a housewife. She waa a
member of the Assembly of God in
Boswell and attended the Pleaaant
Grove Missionary Baptist in
Maydelle.
She was preceded in death fay her
husband; a son, T. J. Taylor, a
brother, Jack Malone and two sis-
ters, Irt Springer and Juanita
Mermon.
Survivors ara a son and daugh-
ter-in-law, Ted and Juanita Taylor
of Independence, Mo.; throe daugh-
ters and sons-in-law, Betty and Nub
Wages of Maydelle, Mary and
Gerald Cottrell of Mabank and
Donna and Kenny Ear les of Magna,
Utah; a sister, Eva Wiggins of Bull-
head City, Aria.; a brother, John
Malone of Ada, Okla.; nine grand-
children; 12 great-grandchildren; a
great-great-granddaughter, and a
host of relatives and friends.
Pallbearers were grandsons,
Randy and Scott Taylor, Bruce and
Blaine Milam, Sgt. Gerald Cottrell
Jr., Tommy Taylor, Michael
Mahoney, Robert Stinecipher. Hon-
orary pallbearers were Randy
Stinecipher, David Bone, Brad
James and Jerry Malone.
Clytus Oscar Burchfield
Funeral services were held for
Clytus Oscar Burchfield, at Hous-
ton, May 15 at Forest Park-
Lawndale in the Chapel in the Pines
in Houston.
Mr. Burchfield waa bom January
16,1922 in Rusk, to Samuel Allen
and Annie Ball Burchfield. He died
May 12 after a long bout with can-
cer. Survivors include his wife, Mary
Ann Barnes Burchfield; children,
Deloras Burchfield, Mary Clyta
Bodine and Daniel Allen Burchfield;
and grandchildren and great-grand -
children.
Preceded in death fay his parents,
a sister, Marie Whitmira, and a
brother, Arthur Burchfield, Clytus
is also survived by sisters Allie Lee
Sherwood and Alma Ingersoll and a
brother Alvin Allen Burchfield at
Rusk.
