A birthday to remember
By Mary Alice Powers
For my birthday my beloved chil-
dren sent me on a Bahamas Cruise.
This trip from July 23-30, was the
most exciting and fun filled vaca-
tion I have ever taken. My daughter
JoJo joined me on this cruise. We
flew from Dallas to Miami, when
tho reached the dock I couldn't be-
lieve uiy eyes. There stood in front
of me the Carnival Cruise Ship. -It
wrb 14 stories high and the most
beautiful cruise ship I'd ever seen.
In fact it was the only cruise ship I'd
ever seen.
After boarding the ship, we met
the captain and took a grand tour of
this beautiful vessel. The name of
the ship was "Fantasy" I can see
why they call it that because it re-
ally was like a dream. The ship had
900 employees and their goal wafi to
make everyone feel like kings and
queens and they did. It's not every-
day that someone unfolds my nap-
kin and places it across my lap for
breakfust, lunch and dinner. And I
can't remember ever having maid
service that turned back the covers
on my bed and left a mint on my
pillow.
By day, we could be pampered in
the health spa, play tennis, swim,
go shipping in the mall on the ship
or leave the ship to shop in beautiful
Nassau. At night the ship was alive
with elegant dining, delicious food
and fantastic entertainment from
dust until dawn.
One thing for sure is that it was
very easy to add on a few pounds
since the ship served eight meals a
day and 24 hour room service. Oh
well, this was a Fantasy cruise after
all. I thank God for birthdays, vaca-
tions, elegant cruise ships, but most
of all I thank him for a bunch of
loving, thoughtful and sweet kids
Their expression of love and appre-
ciation for me was done in such a
beautiful way.
Praise God and thanks to all of
them for "A Birthday to Remem-
ber!"
They are
all girls!
