News of Cherokee courts
JUDGES ATTEND SEMINAR—Some 118 justice of
the peace from Region 6 attended a 20-hour seminar
from Nov. 28 to Dec. 1 in Tyler conducted by the
Texas Justice Court Training Center, headquartered
at Southwest Texas State University in San Marcos.
The seminars are held in compliance with Supreme
Court Rule and Statute of the Texas Government
Code. Topics covered included a review on new laws,
civil procedure, code of judicial conduct, landlord/
tenant law, bonds, appeals, auditing procedures,
administrative hearing and distress warrants.
Attending were from left Bobby D. Caveness, Precinct
4 and Archie Cooh, Precinct 1 from Cherokee County;
Keith Stone, Mike Worsham, Billy Gresham and Harold
Bogue of Nacogdoches County.

James Virgil Walker, charged with

robbery.
Arthur Ray Tucker Jr. charged
with burglary of motor vehicle and
retaliation was placed on probation.
