Class of 1975 Has Reunion
The Rusk High School Class of
1875 had its 10-year reunion Satur-
day, July 37. The class enjoyed a
picnic with their children at Jim
Hogg Park for lunch. The children
were given helium balloons as sur-
prises.
The feativilie* continued with a
barbecue dinner and get together at
the Rusk Jr. High School
Cafetorium that night. The
program consisted of reading the
Junior prophecy from 1075,
EAGLES ECHO articles from 1975,
the homecoming football game film
and crowning of the homecoming
queen and recognition of Senior
band members.
Awards were given for various
categories. Those winning
were—Travelled Farthest, Kellie
Lenes. Powers (Lubbock, TX);
Changed Least-Connie Martin and
Ronnie McGowan; Changed Most-
Ricky Bradley and Cheryl O'Neal;
Couple which changed least-Robin
and Janet Miley Townsend; Most
Children, Mary Foreman Black-
mon; youngest Child, Nancy
Wiggins Morgan; oldest Child,
Connie Miller White. Special enter-
tainment was provided by Gerald
Attaway.
The evening concluded with a
reception at Kathy Clark Meng's
house. Classmates attending some
or all of the events were: Rickey
Hassell, Tyler; Debra Draper Sut-
tles, Jacksonville; Patricia Thed-
ford King, Waco: Steve Slover,
Rusk; Robin and Janet Miley
Townsend, Friendswood; Dina
Stephen and Scotty Allen announ-
ce the arrival of a baby sister.
Karen D'Ann was born at 12:02 a.m.
Saturday, Aug. 3 in a Palestine
Hospital. She weighed 7 pounds, 4
ounces and measured 19 inches.
Parents of the children are Sandy
and Randy Allen of Jacksonville.
Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs.
B. A. Allen and Rev. and Mrs. Ken-
neth Fuller.

Keels Family
Attends
Reunion
Friday night guests in the home
of Erneet and Evileen Keels were
Mr. and Mrs. Albert G. Keels of
Huntsville and Mr. and Mrs. Ralph
Ernest Keels Jr. of Livingston.
Ernest and Evileen joined the
group traveling on to the Keels
reunion on Saturday at Texoma
State Park in Oklahoma. Dan Keels
of Piano, son of Ernest and Evileen,
presided at the meeting. The oldest
family member present was Sen. J.
Lee Keels of Oklahoma City, Okla.
Traveling the longest distance were
Jan and Teri Striker of Kansas City,
Mo. Other relatives present were
three aunts from Oklahoma and
man cousins from Louisiana and
Texas.
New officers elected included
Miss Janice Hiroms, president,
daughter of Mrs. Faye Keels
Hiroms (county treasurer of
Houston County) and Mrs. Dorothy
Murry of Houston County.
The 1966 reunion is planned for
July 12 in the Crockett area, which
will be near the Keels family home
place.
Engagement Announced
Mr. and Mrs. K.L. Snodgrass of Dialville announce the engagement
and approaching marriage of their daughter, Jeanie Kay, to Jefferv
Wayne McRae, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jerry W. McRae of Rusk. A sept.
14 wedding is planned at the Rusk Church of Christ. The prospective
groom is a graduate of Texas A and M University and is employed
by the Central Appraisal District in Nacogdoches.

"The contest theme "Let's
Celebrate Nature" lets
photographers express the natural
beauty of Texas and the people who
enjoy nature and the Texas out-
doors," Sloat stated.
The contest has two categories:
Nature and People Enjoying
Nature. There are two divisions in
each category: Color and Black and
White.
Ribbons and/or prize money will
be awarded for "Best of Show" in
each category; first, second and
third place awards in each division
for each category; and five
honorable mentions for each
division for each category. There
will also be a special "President's
Choice Award" to be awarded by
the 1985 President of the Jasper
Chamber of Commerce.
The contest is open to all
photographers, either ameteur or
professional. Only matted
photographs will be accepted no
larger than eight inches by 12 in-
ches photo size. There is a $3 entry
fee for each photo submitted. Sub-
missions deadline is Oct. 1.

try blank by sending a self ad-
dressed postage paid number 10 en-

Sorority
Has Party
The Alpha Alpha Gamma Chapter
of Beta Sigma Phi met for their an-
nual swim party on Sunday, July
28th at 2 p.m. at the home of Leslie
Hassell. Members enjoyed swim-
ming, sunning, played beach ball
and talking over their summer fun.
The sorority sisters also enjoyed
assorted vegetable and desserts
salads, dips, chips, crackers,
vegetables and dips and tea.

ter, Mary McElroy, Brenda
Dominy, Linda Trokum,
AnitaOcker, Melody Lade, Candis
Blankinship, Joanna Wilson and

Revival Set
At Sardis
The Rev. Charles Hales of
Louisiana will be visiting evangelist
for revival services Aug. 14 to 18 at
the Sardis Baptist Church. Services
are set for 7:30 p.m. daily. Sunday
services begin at 11 a.m. Dinner will
be served in the shade on the church
grounds.

Celebrates
Birthday
Joe Guinn of Rusk was honored
Saturday night with a birthday par-
ty at the home of his daughter and
son-in-law, Nancy and Bobby
Mims.
Following dinner and birthday ice
cream cake, guests enjoyed a VCR
tape of Mr. and Mrs. Guinn's 50th
wedding observance in 1962.
Attending were the honoree and
his wife, Metorf Doris and J.D. Nor-
ton, Lillian and Lloyd Graham,
Dolores Norton, Kate Stovall,
