Miss Dianne Renee
Musick and Rex Edward
Brown were married May
27 in a double ring
ceremony in Tabernacle
Baptist Church at
Jacksonville.
The bride is the daughter
of Mrs. John Ed Musick
and the late Mr. Musick
and the grandaughter of
the Rev. and Mrs. Radford
Bean of Jacksonville. The
groom is the son of Mrs.
Edward Brown of Maydelle
and the late Mr. Brown. He
is the grandson of Mrs.
Maudie Brown of Oakland.
The Rev. Chuck Johnston
of Jacinto City officiated
for the ceremony.
Mrs. David Hubbard
sang "Evergreen" and
"Wedding Prayer," ac-
companied by Mrs. Harold
Branson, organist.
The entrance to the chur-
ch was decorated with
white hurricane lamps with
blue bows.
In the foyer guests
registered at a table
covered with a white lace
cloth holding the bride's
book which featured a
beaded cover, and spring
flower arrangement.
The altar was centered
with a 14-branched can-
delabrum flanked by
basket arrangements of
spring flowers, with ferns
and candelabra com-
plementing the setting.
Blue and white bows
marked the family pews
and blue bows marked the
bridal aisle.
Given in marriage by a
close friend, the Rev. Hank
Chandler, the bride selec-
ted a formal gown of white
silk organza, styled in an
Empire silhouette. The
molded bodice was
overlaid with Chantilly
lace with key hole back
and sweetheart neckline.
Pearls accented the bodice.
Semi-blown Bishop
sleeves, overlaid at the
shoulders with lace motifs,
fell to wide wrist cuffs.
Crystal pleating accented
the front of the full skirt
with wide rows of lace
falling to each side. The at-
tached Chantilly lace train
fell to chapel length.
Complementing the gown
was a mantilla of white
bridal illusion framed in
wide chantilly lace falling
to fingertip length from a
Renaissance cap. She
carried a cascade of white
roses, frenched carnations
with blue baby's breath
and blue and white lace
ribbon tied in love knots.
She wore a Strang of pearls
belonging to her aunt.
Candlelighters were Miss
Cari Gaston and Michael
Lindsey, newphew of the
bride.
Matron of honor was
Mrs. Clinton McElyea,
sister of the bride. Miss
Kaye Musick, sister of the
bride, was bridesmaid, and
Miss Dawn Musick, sister
of the bride, was junior
bridesmaid..
The attendants wore
formáis of taffeta
fashioned with off-the-
shoulder bodices accented
with ruffles, sashed
waistlines and full skirts
with flounces. The dresses
were lavender, pink and
blue. They carried
nosegays of mixed Spring
flowers with streamers of
satin ribbons tied in love
knots.
Miss Shana Lindsey,
niece of the bride, Miss
Becky Crane of Irving,
niece of the groom, and
Miss Katrina Musick, niece
of the bride, were flower
girls. They carried baskets
of yellow, white and blue
silk flowers.
Shane McGuire was ring
bearer.
Jeff Miller of Maydelle
was best man.
Groomsman was Gene
Beamon of Maydelle and
Michael Lindsey, nephew
of the bride, was junior
groomsman.
Robert Musick, brother
of the bride, and Wendell
Vandergrift of Dallas,
cousin of the groom, were
ushers.
Reception
A reception in the com-
munity room of Jackson-
ville Savings & Loan
Association followed the
ceremony.
Miss Joann Trotter
presided at the registry
where a vase of Spring
flowers accented the
bride's book.
The bride's table was
covered with a white linen
cloth accented by greenery
and blue bows. Centering

was a three-tiered wedding
cake decorated with blue
and green flowers, and a
fountain centering the
cake The cake was topped
with a china bride and
groom which has been used
for three generations of the
groom's family. The
figurines stood in a blue
laced gazebo accented by
doves and silk flowers.
Mrs. Cliff Thomas and
Mrs. Ralph Lindsey Jr.,
sister of the bride, served
the cake.
Punch was served at the
opposite end of the table by
Mrs. Mike Poppe and Miss
Angela Luce.
The groom's table was
covered with a white linen
cloth with greenery and
bows and held the bride's
bouquet. Mrs. Sharon
Crane, sister of the groom,
served chocolate cake
which was topped with an
antique model car. Coffee
was served from a silver
service by Mrs. Norma
Foote, aunt of the groom.
Bags of rice in mixed
colors were distributed by
the flower girls.

Guests in the home of Mr.
and Mrs. Arlis Corley this
weekend were Tommy
Corley of Nacogdoches,
Betty Corley, Debra and
Steve Guidry of Marshall,
Cheba McCarley and her
son Max of Nacogdoches
and Angela Jones of A&M
University.
Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Tur-
ney visited with Dr. and
Mrs. Michael Rylander of
Lubbock. While there, they
made an extensive tour of
Texas Tech, Ranch
Heritage Headquarters, as
well as local museums and
other areas of interest. On
returning to Rusk they
visited the headquarters of
the 6666 Ranch in King Co.
Mrs. Rylander is the for-
mer Elizabeth Gibson,
daughter of Mrs. J. C. Tur-
ney.

Earns
First
Arthur L. Sekula of Rusk
was named first place win-
ner in the professional
watercolor division of the
annual Art Show held
recently in Paris, Texas.
The blue-ribbon painting
entitled "Flurries,'' is a
detailed watercolor of a
hillside done primarily in
browns.
Sekula has also shown his
work at the Hill Country
Arts Foundation in
Ingram, the Galeria in San
Antonio, the Gladewater
Arts and Crafts Festival,
and the East Texas
Regional Arts and Crafts
Fair in Rusk.
His watercolors and pen
and ink drawings will be
shown at the Fall Fest in
Longview this September.
Sekula has studied art at
San Antonio College and is
continuing his studies at
Tyler Junior College. He is
employed in the Oc-
cupational Therapy depar-
tment at Rusk SUte
Hoapital,
Following a honeymoon
in Arkansas, the couple
lives at Maydelle. The
groom is employed at
Snoke Special Products
and the bride at Beall's
General Offices.
Rehearsal Dinner
A rehearsal dinner in the
Bamboo room of Trade
Winds Restaurant was
hosted by Mrs. Edward
Brown and Mrs. Sharon
Crane. Places were laid for
25 guests.
