We had a busy time at
Leisure Lodge the last
several weeks. Looking
even further back begin-
ning with Thanksgiving we
saw much enjoyment in the
lives of our residents as
family members came in
and visited.
We got off to a big start in
Dec. with the parade. We
were delighted to win
second place in the judging
of the floats. We had a
great time working on the
float even in the cold
weather. Those who rode
on the float were Sybaline
Miller, Janie Garner as
Raggedy Ann, Christy
DeFoor as Jack-in-the-Box,
Phillip Walles and Annette
Hunter as King and Queen
of the castle, Kim Reece,
Dayne Lawson and Er-
nestine King as children
listening to a bedtime
story. Special thanks go to
Jerry Walles for construc-
tion help, Ernest King for
the loan of his trailer, and
Grady Dupree for pulling
the float.
We also had a van with
residents riding in it. These
residents were Imogene
Lusk, Henry Guinn. Ethel
Prince, Alton Lukenbill,
Willis Lang, and our 101-
year-old resident Ollie
Majors. Joe Davis and
Vivian Graig rode in the
car pulling the float with
Grady Dupress. We thank
Travis and Sandra McCain
for the generous use of
their van for the'parade.
Thanks to the help of our
office staff and volunteers
Fern Elliot and Jerry
Walles, our home got
decorated in fine style for
Christmas. We appreciate
all the nice comments we
heard about it.
We had many carollers
and groups come and per-
form for us this last month
and we do thank all of them
for coming. The.' included
the boy and girl Bluebirds
who made tabletop
decorations for us, the
Rusk Junior High School
Choir, the fourth and fifth
grade choirs. The De Anna
Luke School of Dance from
Palestine performed for us,
the Key Club from Rusk
High School brought fruit.
