Miss Lila Jean Wood,
daughter of Mrs. Bill
Middleton Jr.. and the late
Josh Wood, became the
bride of David Sistmnk III
in a beautiful candlelight
ceremony at 3 p.m. Nov. 3
in the First Methodist
Church of Rusk.
The bride was given in
marriage by her uncle, Mr.
Reginald-Wood of Houston.
Mrs. Mary Beth Hooper,
sister of the bride was Maid
of Honor. Bridesmaids
were: Miss Billie Lynn
Lovelady, cousin of the
bride; Miss Rhonda
Turner; Mrs. Margaret
Goff and Miss Rhonda
Whitesides. Miss Candy
Goff was the flower girl.
Bridesmaids gowns were
floor length knit mauve.
Maid of Honor wore floor
length gown of mauve with
tiny flowers embossed in
the material.
Mrs. Marglrefótítf sang
"For All We Know" and
was accompanied on the
piano" by Mrsl Peggy
Clifton.
Best man was Mr. Ron
Sistrunk, brother of the
groom. Groomsmen were
friends of "the-groom- frem
Dallas.
The double ring
ceremony was especially
written for the couple by
the Reverend Hank
Chandler.
The mother of the bride
chose a floor length dress
of blue satin for her
daughter's wedding.
Mrs. Sistrunk, mother of
the groom, chose a street
length dress of sheer pink
chiffon
RECEPTION
The reception was held in
the fellowship hall of the
First Methodist Church.
The bride's colors of
burgundy and mauve were
carried out. The three
tiered wedding cake was
served by Mrs. Nell
Gunter. The punch was
served by Mrs. Carla
Lovelady, cousin of the
bride.
The groom's table
consisted of the traditional
chocolate cake and coffee.
This was served by a
cousin of the groom.
WEDDING SUPPER
A wedding supper was
hosted by the groom's
parents at 5 p.m. at
Holiday Inn in
Jacksonville. The meal
consisted of prime roast
beef, ham, yeast rolls,
boiled shrimp and various
salads. A group of about 75
toasted the couple. The
couple left immediately
following the supper for a
honeymoon in Mississippi.
They will be making their
home in Dallas. The bride
is a graduate of Rusk High
School and is presently
working at the Citizens
Bank in Dallas. The groom
is employed with an oil
firm in Dallas.
The Eaatside Baptist
Church of Ruak, Texaa waa
the beautiful setting for the
3:00 p.m. wedding of
Virginia Lynn Hardy of
Rusk aiíd Jim W. Haralson
of Tyler.
Parents of the couple are
Mr. and Mrs. Hugh C.
Hardy of Rusk ana Mr. and
Mrs J. A Haralson of Ty-
ler The bride is the grand-
daughter of Mrs. Virginia
Hardy and the late L.R.
Hardy of Rusk and Mrs.
Velma January of Mabank,
Texas
Dr Robert Parrott of
Longview officiated at the
double ring ceremony be-
fore an alter of candles
banked with ambler ferns.
Green plants flanked the
piano The couple joined in
the lighting of the Unity
candle.
Given in marriage by her
father, the bride wore a
formal gown of white or-
ganza. The two-piece en-
semble featured a floor
length gown with a re-em-
broidered chantilly lace
bodice with satin ribbon
straps The a-line skirt
trimmed with lace and
edged with tiny ruffles
swept to the back to form a
chapel length train. Scat-
tered motifs and pearls
adorned both the skirt and
train The jacket of re-em-
broidered lace had a modi-
fied Queen Ann neckline
and straight sheer sleeves
with ruffles at the wrists.
Covered buttons accented
the bodice sleeves.
The bride chose for her
accessories, pearls worn
by her mother for her
wedding. She wore a brim-
med had of matching lace
with a chiffon bow and
streamers at the back. She
carried a fantasy bouquet
of silk roees, freesia, dais-
ies and babyfc breath in
shades of peach and apri-
cot with lace and satin
ribbons.
Wedding music was pre-
sented by Mrs. Jacquline
Janes of Humble, cousin of
the bride. She played,"The
Twelth of Never" and the
theme from "lee Castle."
Mr. Earnest Singleton and
Mrs. Sally Phillips of Rusk
sang, "Color My World."
Cindy Ocker of Tyler was
maid of honor Brides-
maids were Sandy Bostick
of Bryan, Janet Haralson
of Tyler, sister of -the
groom and Mrs Ann Jan-
uary of Mabank, aunt of the
bride.
The attendents wore for-
mal gowns of apricot crepe
with overlays of floral
peach batiste, caught at the
waist with satin belts. They
wore silk flower hair pieces
and carried keepsake bou-
quets of silk roses, daisies
and forget-me-nots in col-
ors of orange, brown and
beige.
J.A. Haralson served his
son as best man. Richard
Hardy of Abilene, brother
of the bride, Greg Nordyke
of Tyler and Randy Honea
of Tyler served as grooms-
men.
Jobn Colville of Rusk and
Bud Amey of Tyler served
as ushers and candlelight-
ers.
For her daughter's wed-
ding, Mrs. Hardy wore a

Mr. and Mrs. David
Sistrunk III, was honored
with a tea shower
Saturday, Nov. 10 between
the appointed hours of 4-6
p.m. in the Community
room of First State Bank.
Miss Misty Bowden
registered the guests, and
Mrs. Estelle Middleton,
mother of the honoree, and
Mr. and Mrs. Sistrunk
greeted them.
The table was decorated
with a beautiful red and
white lace tablecloth, with
a fresh arrangement of fall
flowers, and tapered white
candles. Cake squares,
nuts, mints and punch were
served.
Many lovely and useful
gifts were displayed in the
ajoining room.

Following a brief business
meeting, salads were

The main course,
consisting of sliced ham,
broccoli and rice casserole,
sweet potatoes and bread
was served at the home of
Mrs. Jenny Sullivan. The
final course of dessert and
coffee was enjoyed at the
home of the president, Mrs.
Linda Ball.

meats with coffee and
champagne punch were
served in the partyroom.
