Women Meet
On July 31
The Fifth Monday meeting of
the Federation of Church Wo-
men met at First Methodist
Church, 3 p.m., July 31st.The
president, Mrs. W. W. Finley
called the meeting to order
am) Rev. Grover Talbert led
in the opening prayer.
The group in attendance join-
ed to sing, 'Take Time to be
Holy." Mrs. Allen Holley ac-
companied at the organ as
Mrs. Howard Pratt directed
the singing.
Mrs. Charles Linney wel-
comed the representatives of
the various community chur-
ches, and urged each woman
present to attend the next
meeting in October and bring
a friend.
Mrs. Finley officated at a
brief business meeting.
Mrs. Edwin Campbell pre-
sented a most interesting de-
votional on the subject, "Wo-
men Dreamers."
Guest speaker for the meet-
ing was the pastor of the host
church. Rev. Howard Willi-
ams. His message of inspir-
ation was taken from the 8th
chapter of II Corinthian*.
He dismissed the meeting
with prayer.
Punch and cookies were ser-
ved in Fellowship Hall,during
a period of visitation and fel-
lowship.
Revival Set
At Church
Near Dialville
Revival Services will be held
at the Union Grove Cumber-
land Presbyterian Church Au-
gust 6-11. Services will be-
gin with the 11:00 a.m. wor-
ship hour Sunday, August 6,
and continue each evening at
7;30p,m. through Friday,Au-
gust 11. The church is locat-
ed near Dialville.
The Evangelist will be the
Rev. S. Q. Froctor of Overton.
Rev. Proctor is a graduate of
Bethel College, McKenzie,
Tennesse, with two years of
graduate work; part at Austin
Seminary, Austin, Texas, and
Southern Methodist Univers-
ity, Dallas. Rev, Proctorhas
been in Home Mission work all
of his ministry; primarily
helping to organize new chur-
ches in various cities throu-
ghout the country. His work
has also included evangelistic
campaigns, and oflate;prom-
oting visitation programs.
Rev. Proctor is a dynamic
preacher with a positive mes-
sage.
Gerald Gray of Jacksonville
will be in charge of the music
each evening. Assisting at the
piano will be Mrs. Barbara
Starr. Mr. Gray and Mrs.
Starr have worked together in
prior years at Union Grove

Rotary Governor
Completes Visit
With Local Club
Governor of Rotary Clubs In-
ternational for District 591,
Don Strickland of Liberty, ar-
rived in Rusk lastTuesday sh-
ortly after 5 o'clock for a
short visit with the localclub.
Upon h is arrlva 1, Mr. Strick -
land held a brief meeting with
two officers of the local club,
Ray Cagle, president and Hou-
ston White, secretary. Later
in the evening, a special club
assembly of officers and dir-
ectors was held todiscuss and
make plans for the new Rotary
year which began July 1st.
Wednesday, the 26th,Strick-
land addressed the Rotary
Club at a "ladies day" lunch-
eon at the Pineview. In his
Governor's Address, Strick-
land encouraged members to
observe and to carry out with
renewed vigor the Principles
of Rotary, and to set up new
projects in each of the areas
of service covered by the Pr-
inciples; Club Service,Com-
munity Service, Vocational
Service, and International
Service.
In closing, Governor Strick-
land encouraged growth in all
phases of Rotary work in the
Rusk club.

the arrivial of a baby girl, who
they named Melissa Michaele.
