Pasture Work
In The County
Lester Etheridge, who lives in
the Reese Community, is getting
good results from his Crimson
Clover this spring. Etheridge says
he has 10 yearlings on the Crim-
son. In another pasture, which has
no clover, he has yearlings of ab-
out the same age. He estimated
the yearlings on the Crimson Clo-
ver will outweigh the other group
by 200 pounds.
V. R. Garrett, of Jacksonville
owns a farm in the Concord com-
munity. He planted 60 acres to
Lovegrass last spring. Garrett has
a wonderful stand of grass. Last
fall he overseeded the Lovegrass
to Vetch. The ground is well cov-
ered with the Vetch. This combi-
nation should prove to be a good
soil building team.
John Coleman, Soil Conservation
Service technician, assisted B. D.
