Chapter 881 1 AN ACT 2 relating to the board of directors of the Greater East End 3 Management District. 4 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: 5 SECTION 1. Section 3807.052, Special District Local Laws 6 Code, is amended to read as follows: 7 Sec. 3807.052. APPOINTMENT OF DIRECTORS. (a) The mayor 8 and members of the governing body of the City of Houston shall 9 appoint directors from persons recommended by the board. 10 Notwithstanding [who mot th qualifiatis r n . r... ri.. by] 11 Subchapter D, Chapter 375, Local Government Code, to be qualified 12 to serve as director, a person must be at least 18 years of age and: 13 (1) be a resident of the district; or 14 (2) have a district business interest. 15 (b) Appointments to the board must ensure that: 16 (1) at least 60 percent of the directors are residents 17 of the district; and 18 (2) each director who does not reside in the district 19 has a district business interest. 20 (c) In this section, "district business interest" means 21 owning or controlling, directly or indirectly, more than a 10 22 percent interest in a business entity located in the district. 23 SECTION 2.
