S.B. No. 2244 1 (b) The Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board, in 2 consultation with the Texas Economic Development and Tourism 3 Office, shall establish procedures to determine: 4 (1) whether a business or organization meets the 5 requirements of this section; and 6 (2) the date on which the business or organization 7 became established in this state as part of the program of state 8 economic development and diversification. 9 SECTION 2. The change in law made by this Act to Section 10 54.066, Education Code, applies beginning with tuition and required 11 fees for the fall 2010 semester. Tuition and fees for a semester or 12 other academic term before that semester are covered by the law in 13 effect immediately before the effective date of this Act, and the 14 former law is continued in effect for that purpose. 15 SECTION 3. This Act takes effect January i, 2010.
