2 SUBCHAPTER P. PORT OF CORPUS CHRISTI AUTHORITY SPECIAL FREIGHT
3 CORRIDOR PERMITS
4 Sec. 623.301. OPTIONAL PROCEDURE. This subchapter provides
5 an optional procedure for the issuance of a permit by the Port of
6 Corpus Christi Authority for the movement of oversize or overweight
7 vehicles carrying cargo on a state highway special freight corridor
8 located in San Patricio County.
9 Sec. 623.302. DEFINITIONS. In this subchapter:
10 (1) "Port authority" means the Port of Corpus Christi
11 Authority; and
12 (2) "Special freight corridor" means a highway built
13 by this state specifically for the movement of oversize or
14 overweight vehicles carrying cargo in San Patricio County to and
15 from the port authority's La Quinta terminal.
16 Sec. 623.303. ISSUANCE OF PERMITS. The Texas
17 Transportation Commission may authorize the port authority to issue
18 permits for the movement of oversize or overweight vehicles19 carrying cargo on state highway special freight corridors located
20 in San Patricio County. The port authority may issue a permit under
21 this subchapter only if the cargo being transported weighs 125,000
22 pounds or less.
23 Sec. 623.304. MAINTENANCE CONTRACTS. The port authority
24 shall make payments to the department to provide funds for the
25 maintenance of state highways subject to this subchapter.
26 Sec. 623.305. PERMIT FEES. (a) The port authority may
27 collect a fee for permits issued under this subchapter. The fees3
