HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
1 WHEREAS, The passing of Pamelia Ann Blackburn Urbano of
2 Paris, Texas, on January 9, 2009, at the age of 71, has deeply
3 saddened all those who were fortunate enough to know her; and
4 WHEREAS, Born on August 23, 1937, to Marshall and Ruby Miller
5 Blackburn, Pam Blackburn graduated from Paris High School and Paris
6 Junior College; she went on to establish a notable career with First
7 Federal Community Bank, where she was employed for 43 years; and
8 WHEREAS, Mrs. Urban served as president of the Paris
9 Business and Professional Women's Club and received that
10 organization's Woman of the Year honor, and she further contributed
11 to her community as a congregant of the Lamar Avenue Church of
12 Christ; and
13 WHEREAS, Pam Urbano lived a life that was rich in family,
14 friends, and meaningful achievements, and she will forever hold a
15 treasured place in the hearts of her loved ones; now, therefore, be
16 it
17 RESOLVED, That the 81st Legislature of the State of Texas
18 hereby pay tribute to the life of Pamelia Ann Blackburn Urbano and
19 extend sincere condolences to the members of her family: to her son,
20 John Miller Urbano, and his wife, Debbye; to her granddaughters,
21 Kellye Anne Urbano and Rachele Nicole Urbano Estes and her husband,
22 Steven; to her great-grandsons, Wesley and Ethan Estes; to her
23 brother, John Marshall Blackburn, and his wife, Ellen; to her
24 nieces, Karen Blackburn and Tracy Whitlock; to her special friend,
