father and three other children were
injured seriously.

the murders of Dr. A. D. Searles
and William MeDeavitt, two of the
victims of the deadly .22 caliber

A peculiar twist of the trial is

Ky., in Kansas City tomorrow, will

two years ago in Iansing prison.
Foor has just finished serving a
sentence for killing a Wichita police-
man in 1923.
Foor was shot when attempting to
escape arrest after the shooting of
the policeman and during the time

by many women, among whom was
Miss Gay. -At that time Miss Gay
told a friend that she intended mar
rying Foor.
Miss Gay visited Foor at the pen-
itentiary last September, and a
short time later he'proposed marri-
age to her by mail. She accepted by
telegram and the two are to be mar-
ried tomorrow.
The girl’s mother, rs. Harry
Nichols, in discussing the marriage
of her daughter to an ex-convict,
said she thought it alt-was a "bead-

John N. Baldwin, assigned by the
court to defend the sniper, explain-
ed that Clark was pleading insan-
ity and despite the fact alienists
have pronounced him rational and
he himself believes the man men-
tally normal except for his desire
to commit murder, he must make
the best possible defense.
At times, Baldwin said, the
sniper insists he is sane and ex-
presses a desire to pay the death
penalty.
