Gentlemen: While it has never been my habit an inclination to recom-
mend remedies the ingredients of which are not all known to me, if seems
as if I should make an exception in the Case of Dr. Kilmer's swamp-Root.
My experience, so far aa I have tested It in my practice, forces me to the
conclusion that It is a remedy of the greatest value in an kidney, liver, blad-
der. and other Inflamatory conditions of the genito-urinary tract. I now
take pleasure in prescribing Swamp-Root in all such eases with a teeling
of assurance that my patients will derive great benefit from its use. I shall
continne to prescribe it in other cases in my practice with the expec-
tation of good results. Very truly yours.

Last evening about 7 o'clock Mary
Pope, the dusky belle of "Tin-cup
Alley." made an unsuccesaful attempt
to shuffle away, by the laudanum
route. All that saved Mary from
eternity was the efTorta of Police Offi-
cer Tannehill and several of her women
friends. This seems singular, but
nevertheless it la a fact. All efforts to
get a doctor were in vain. County and
City Physician Graves could not be
located, and It seems no other physician
cared to take the case. After more
than’an hour of rubbing, rolling and
numerous doses of antidotes, the dam -
sel was finally brought to life. For a
while it was thought that her ease was
hopeless, but it is now thought thatshe
will recover. Just what time the
woman took the drug could not be
learned, but shortly before dark she
was discovered in her room in the
alley between Third and Fourth
streets. The door was locked, and It
was necessary to break the door In to
effect an entrance. She was in bed and
no doubt would have been dead in a
few minutes more. The woman took
several ounces of the poison in a glass
of whisky. Disappointment in love is
the cause of Mary's rash act. It is said
she made a statement to that effect
when she had recovered sufficiently to
talk, and declared that she would try
it over, with the hope of being more
successful.
