DEATH PENALTY ABOLISHED.
Political Crimes No Longer Capital
Offenses in Nuevo Leon.
Monterey Mex. Oct. 5. Politi-
cal crimes no longer carry the death
penalty in the State of Nuevb Leon.
The State Congress has passed an
amendment to the constitution
specifically stating that crimes of
such character shall not be punish
able by death.
No inforcement of the law just
amended has been made for years.
The action of the present Congress
was consequently formal to a great
extent. Its removal however is in-
active of security that the-Legisla
tors believe exists in regard to Gov
ernmental affairs.
Among the criminals on whom
the death penalty may still be im
posed under the law are traitors
murderers incendiaries highway-
men and those guiliv of serious in-
fraction of military discipline.

the scalp on the opposite side of
the head the other passing through
the right arm near the shoulder and
lodging in the Jjody. ' His horse

DEAFNESS CANNOT BE CURED
by locil applications as they canno
reach the diseased portion of the ear.
There is only one way to cure deafness
and that is by constitutional remedies.
Deafness is caused by an inflamed con-
dition of the mucous lining of the Eus-
tachian Tube. When this tube is in-
flamed you have a rumbling' sound or
mperf ect hearing and when it is en
rirely closed Deafness is the result and
unless the inflammation can be taken
out and this tube restored to its normal
condition hearing will be destroyed
forever. Nine da-es utof ten are caused
by Catarrh which is nothing but an
inflamed condition of the niucuos sur-
faces. We will give One Hunlred Dollars
for any case of Deafness caused by
catarrh tha; cannot he cured by Hall's

"WASHINGTON X. C.
If you are a suffering wo
man we. would say to you
inac wine or uarauiseiaom
fails to completely cure any
case of female ills. "We say
emphatically it never fails
to benefit. -Every day hun-
dreds of sufferers are writing
to our Ladies' Advisory De-
partment. The letters are
opened by persons compe-
tent to give advice. Mrs.
Jones was cured by follow
ing the advice which was freely given
her by the Ladies' Advisory Depart-
ment. Miss Owens was cured without
advice by just buying a $1.00 bottle of
"Wine of Cardui from her druggist and
taking this great medicine in the pri-
vacy of her home. Iso doctor's ex-
animation treatment or advice is nec-
essary. You have read what these two
cured women have written. Is this.not
enough to lead you to determine to be
rid oisuffering?
-August .13 1900 Mrs. "W. H. Jones
of Cameron Mo. writes:
"I suffered terribly at monthly periods
for three years. I would sometimes go for
seven months with no flow at all. Now
I have my health back again and am
expecting to be confined in January. I
cannot praise your medicine enough.
