If you're looking for a change
of pace from traditional Tex-Mex
rice and beans, relief is right down
the road.
Fuzzy's Taco Shop opened its
doors last month at 115 Industrial
St., offering Baja-style Mexican
cuisine and bringing an alterna-
tive taste to downtown Denton.
The brightly painted walls
and furniture create a fun and
welcoming atmosphere for
newcomers. Latin music sets a
casual atmosphere while several
flat-screens offer those who love
sports the chance to keep up

boasts many customary Baja
dishes, including tacos, burritos,
grilled sandwiches, salads and a
wide selection of breakfast dishes
served all day.
With so many choices on the
menu, it might take a while to
make a decision. Take comfort
in the fact that it'll probably take
longer to order the food than to
wait for it.
We started off with chips and
queso and found that they are
much better at Fuzzy's than at
most other places.
We were delighted by the corn
tortilla chips, which were crispy
and seasoned with flavorful spices.
Meanwhile, the light and creamy
blend of cheeses, tomatoes and
cilantro tickled our tongues and
surpassed our expectations.
A grilled veggie burrito was
next on our table. With ingredi-
ents like guacamole, black beans,
lettuce, squash, tomatoes and
garlic sauce, this dish can be
enjoyed by lettuce-lovers and
meat-eaters. It's warm, hearty
and surprisingly filling.

choice for us. We chose the
shrimp taco, which was grilled
to perfection with fresh lettuce,
tomato, onion and tangy feta
cheese, packed inside a warm
tortilla. The cheese enchilada
was drenched in cheese and just

and refried beans, not that stuff
at other places that may or may
not have sat under a heat lamp
next to a chef's cigarette and a
sweaty hairnet.
After we ate, our eyes were
directed to the wall of souve-
nirs. Fuzzy's sells several types
of merchandise to sport its new
location, including t-shirts and its
original Butt Burnin' hot sauce.
This sauce isn't for the weak-
tongued. Brooke's almost fell off
when she tried it.

beer and fresh chips with queso and guaca-
We would like to make it clear that
none of the food we ate had hair-
balls, dust bunnies or any other
"furry" ingredients.
We were even happier about
the cost. Fuzzy's isn't a fast-food
restaurant, but the reasonable
prices would make you believe
otherwise. We each walked in
with 10 bucks and walked out
with almost half of that still in
our pockets.
The restaurant is open from
6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday
through Wednesday and 6:30
a,m, to 3 a.m. Thursday through
Saturday.
