Nrw York February 8. The State Asy-
11111 for the Insane located at Buffalo Is one
the largest institutions of its kind in the
world. It contains at present about 250 pa'
ticnts the most remarkable case among them
being that of a man of German descent who
hails from a town in Southern Ohio. He was
found lying in a street here one day. over a
year ago and was taken to a police station by
ignorant policeman who believed him to
intoxicated. There his real condition was
scovered by a physician and he was hur
ried away to the Insane Asylum. The man
has spoken but once during the time he has
een an inmate of the Asylum. Then he de
ared Incoherently that "the Ixird had com
manded him to sleep" and that he "would
te awakened by the Lord when it suited
pleasure" or words to tlie sarJH
effect. The man Is Insane his peculiar de
lusion being that he must sleep and sleep he
certainly does for he is utterly unconscious
and has been for over a year being fed on

West Eleventh streets changed a $10 note
for a stranger on Friday and in so doing
