Board of Advocates elects seven directors
to serve South Texas for 1984-1985 term
At a special meeting held in
March, the Board of Advocates
elected seven new Directors to
serve during the 1984-85 school
year. Those elected include James
Brock, Mayzie Burke, Jan Dil-
lard, Scott Loras, Kip Morgan,
Lane Thibodeaux and Diana
Wagner. This year's Directors
who will continue to serve include
Clark Chamberlain, president,
Roy Brantley, Richard Hogan,
Rob Holt, Randy Howry, Susie
Johnson, Lee Russell, and James
Supkis.
Special thanks are in order for
the Directors who will be stepping
down at the end of this year and
who helped make the South Texas
advocacy program such a great

Graduation
Graduation for January, May and August candidates will be
held on Wednesday, May 9, 1984, at 3 p.m. in the sanctuary of
TEMPLE EMANU EL.
Summer/Fall Financial Aid
The deadline for summer financial aid is May 18, 1984. The
start for fall financial aid is June 1, 1984. The start date is the first
date that students may begin to pick up their financial aid applica-
tion packets. The packets will not be released before these dates.
Senior Pictures
Senior pictures in cap and gown, first time and re-makes, will
be taken on May 8, 1984. Please sign up in theLaw Journal office.
You may use your own cap and gown, or one will be furnished.
HBA Spring Dinner
All South Texas College of Law students are cordially invited
to hear Governor John Connally speak at the Annual Spring Din-
ner of the Houston Bar Association — Corporate Counsel Sec-
tion. The Dinner will be held April 19 from 6:30 p.m. until 10:00
p.m. at the Hotel Meridien, 400 Dallas Street, Houston. Tickets
are $25 per person and include dinner and an open bar. Please
mail your check payable to the Corporate Counsel Section of the
HBA to Kay Dube, Program Chairman, Ross, Griggs, & Har-
rison, 2600 Two Allen Center, Houston, Texas, 77002.
Law Journal Support Fee
The Board of Directors of the South Texas Law Journal,
Inc., at their annual meeting on Wednesday, February 29, 1984,
raised the Law Journal Support Fee charged each student each
semester the student registers to $8 per semester. This charge is to
become effective with the registration of students for the Summer
Session, 1984.

Purpose: Election of Officers — All members
urged to attend.
April 3,1984 (Tuesday) — Initiation 7:30 p.m.

following Initiation. Ceremony at the Elephant
and Castle in the Park.
April 14,1984 (Saturday) — Spring Banquet 6:30 p.m.
Location: Shamrock Hilton Hotel. PAD is
reserving a private room for the enjoyment of
our members and guests.
