Laredo Sept. 1. Dr. Geo. R. Ta-
. bor State health officer arrived
here this afternoon en route to Mex-
ico to investigate yellow fever con-
ditions. He held a conference with
Dr. J. M McKnight the local health
officer and after this received the
local correspondents.
"We established the quarantine
against Monterey upfn what to us
was conclusive evidence that 3'ellow
iever existed there and the quaran
tine will be ngi'lly enforced." he
said. "We have no desire to im-
pede commerce and for the present
innght will be permitted to cross
the river after the cars have been
thoroughly fumigated in Nuevo
Laredo. We will use- the rangers
to assist us in maintaining the
quarantine the Governor having;
given the rtcessary orders to the
