We have examined the bonds of

attention of the oouuty judge to the
and roooiuuiead him to look
carefully at the form of raoh bonds as

We find by referonoe to the report
of the committee reoommended by us
and appointed by the district ¿odge,
at the present term of the District
Court, to examine the books, etc., of
the officers of Grayson county:
"That all the offioers oharged by
law with the making of reports to
the Commissioners Court have filed
the same except Q. W, Wilson, J. P.
Pjedwit No. 4, E. 0. Doke, oonsta
ble ÍE>rednot Na 8, whose report do
hot appear to be on file, and E. P.
Gregg, county jndge, whose latest
report is dated July fifith, 1886, and
filed November 10th," also in the
same report the committee say t !
"We have failed to state the oondi
Uon of each officers aceount, as in
structed to do so by Article 988 of
the Revised Statutes, for the reason
that the accounts of tbe officers, as
shown by the finance ledger, aire In
such an imperfect condition that we
considered it impossible to formulate
any report therefrom that would be
reliable, but so far as we can Judge
the accounts are correct." ■
We therefore recommend that tbe
Commissioners Court keep a better
finance account, and employ a proper
scpounhtnt to keep their books, and
that they be more diligent in requir-
ing reports of all offioers to be* filed
in accordance with the law.
We have examined tbe County
Farm, and report it in good oondi
tiou under the management of P. P.
Wilkins, and the paupers and lunatics
are well cared for. We recommend
that more bedsteads be purchased and
plooed at tbe Farm.
We have examined the foundation
of tbe new oouuty jail, at tbe request
of tbe county jail, and find that mater
lal is being used that is not proper
for such 4 itrneture, and rsoommend
that the matter be looked into imme;
diately by tbe proper authorities.
One of our members, Mr. A. E.
Hughes, has been absent from oar
deliberations a considerable portion
of the time we baft Ueon In session,
if) pHWWrt of horse thieves, in which
pursuit he has scted very prompUy
and efficiently, and hat exhibited fine
qualities as a peace officer M well as
a grand juror.
We beg leave to report that while
our oouuty U6rnqr, O.S.
hat been necessarily, absent ft
room most of the time on aooount of
his duties in the District Corirt, he
has furnished us an able assistant in
the person of J. ft Raudell, who was
present during our entire eees$o$,
and rendered or muoh valuable #«9(1

all our dntiee, and think all fritters
demanding our attention fort been
