PRINCIPAL ^SECTIONS OF THIS CABIN CAN HI CONSTRUCTED
AT HOME IN 'THE GARAGE AND HAULED TO SITE IN A TRAILER
fabricated, loaded In a trailer or on tap of your car
or station wagon and hauled to the site. There, it's
i matter of only a few minutes to have each section
n place. -
Widmever relied heavily on the large size and
high Strength of full-site sheets of fir plywood in his
design. One4x8-fo6t panel, with framing already
aoplied in your spare moments during the week,
makes a four-foot wide section of wall that needs
to be merely set in place and nailed down.
Floor framing, resting oh a svstem of Diers, is
simple and requires a minimum of cutting. Full-ate
sheets of 38-inch exterior type fir plywood go direct-
ly over the framing to provide a floor surface in
themselves or to act a* under lay men t for tile floor.
Another advantage of Widmever's design is that
all of the plywood surfaces exceDt the roof deck may
bé left unfinished indefinitely. This material will not
delaminate, although it may face check in the weath-
er, as anv wood will do. But this type of construction,
with wide-spaced studs and expanses Of clear wood,
doesn't present the cluttered appearance of unfinish-
ed conventional building.
The compact house
can easily be oriented to a
view of water or mountains and the large front
windows offer both a clear view and a good light
source for the interior of the cabin.
A fireplace is included in the cost of the first
stage and goes a long way toward making this a cozy
place in the after-sundow cooling period.
Another of the extras included in the plans, and
the cost, of this cabin is a prefabricated fir ply-
wood wardrobe, a real vacation convenience.
Complete, easy-to-follow plans for this cabin aré
available for 25 cents from THE ORANGE LEAD-
ER, P. O. BOX 1028, ORANGE, TEX. Ask for the
