Religious Drama
Check Urged
NEW YORK (APV—A broader
view of religious drama is urged
by Robert E. Seaver of Unioo
Theological Seminary.
Addressing a conference spon-
rred by the Religious Drama
Council of the Protestant Council.
Seaver said that to some people the
term "means drama in the church.
"But to people net related to the
church, it suggests an amateurish
spectacle neither theologically nor
theatrically sound."
Festivity Marks
Tobacco Growing
The 330th anniversary of tobac-
co, American's oldest industry,
will be celebrated at Jamestown
with four days of special festivi-
ties May 16-19. 1362. Jamestown's
first, commercially successful to-
bacco crop, harvested in 1612.
saved the first British colony from
economic collapse.
It was a turning point in Ameri-
can history, for Jamestown was
then the only permanent English
settlement in the New World. The
crop was planted and sold by John
Rolfe, who married Pocahontas.
