G. A. F. Parker returned Wednes-
day from Clarendon where he had
been in attendance upon the quarter-
ly district conference, which was
largely attended.

surauce office into the same rooms
now occupied by the J. H. Pitman

A larger number of prospectors
arrived here last night and this
morning. The special trains were
delayed just beyond Woodward
Oklahoma en account of a burned
bridge.
Miss Emma Austin, who has been
making her home with Mr. and Mrs.
Barker, and little Miss Corrie Bark-
er, only 6 years old, left Wednes-
day for a visit to the latter's grand-

Dr. S. D. Howser has sold his
residence to Dr. G. F. LeGrand,who
will come to Hereford to make his
home. Dr. LeGrand is well known
here as he made this his home for a
number of years. Dr. Howser will
return to his former home at Aubrv.

Mrs. Carl Gilliland and baby left
! Wednesday to visit her mother in
Swisher county. Mr. Gilliland re-
mained at home and will bach ,for a
season. His friends are invited to
spend their evenings with him
E. B. Black and O. E. Thomas
were called to Friona the latter part
of the week to take charge of the
remains of Mr. Olson. A splendid
'casket was secured and the body
embalmed and shipped to Sioux City,
Iowa.
