of his profits thsn his customers, he fights shy of the graveyard for conscience
sake, remóse perhaps for hsving substituted something cheap in filling prescrip-
tions for the deceased. We hsve ss much antipathy for graveyards as most
druggists, not because our conscience troubles us. We stay away because it
makes us feel bed. We are always sorry when one of our friends and customers
is called to "the life beyond," but if we had anything to do with his last illness
our conscience is clear. We filled the prescriptions exactly as the doctor ordered.
It is our business to fill prescriptions. It is our principle and invariable rule to
them EXACTLY as ordered and we never let the work be done
., inexperienced help. We use the right drugs, the right proportions and of the
lúality the doctor expects; with this our duty is done. Bring your prescriptions
9 us where you get what the doctor wants you to have.

for one week. It is to begin
Jrd Sunday, the 20th of August.
Prospectors continue to come, all
of whom seem highly pleased with
the country. Those who do not
make purchases say they intend to
come again soon to locate.
Rev. J. T. Burnett of Canyon City
Vas here and preached last Satur-
dayvnight, two sermons Sunday, also
Sunday night. He organized a
church with a membership of four.
J. B. Donald of Justin, Texas, is
with us visiting his son, Walter
Donald. Mr. Donald continues to
be better pleased with the plains as
he sees and realizes more Of its
great possibilities.
Our protracted meeting continues
through this week. It is conducted
by Rev. J. Ü. McClain who is doing
some earnest preaching and consid-
erable interest is being manifested
by the irreligious. Several have
been converted and made to know
that there is a reality in the religion
of Jesus Christ.
We recently visited the surveying
corps now at work between Canyon
City and Tulia, spending a few hours
with them. A Mr. McGee of Am-
arillo is the main guy. There are
sixteen men in the party who are

Card of Thanks.
We take this opportunity of thank-
ing our neighbors and friends for
their generous and sympathetic aid
during the recent illness and death
of our darling boy. We cannot
find words adequate to express our
deep gratitude, but we earnestly
pray that your reward may be the
richest blessings from our Heavenly

For Actual Settlers Only.
The following fas issued last
Thursday from the Land Office at
Austin:
General Land ¿CjKce, Austin,
Texas.—The list oÍ lands which will
come on the market after the first
of September and up to the first of
January next will be ready for free
distribution by this department
about Aug. 15. This list will cover
about 300,000 acres, and the land
shown therein will be for sale to
those who will become actual settlers
only. This list contains the name
of the persons to whom the lands
have been leased and will thus en-
able prospectors to more easily find
the lands in the counties. Those
wanting this list may send to this
office for it. I would be glad if
the weekly newspapers would copy
this, so that the public will have the
greater opportunity of knowing that
the second list will be ready for
distribution soon. The work of this
office has assumed such proportions
recently that it is next to impossible
for me to send a copy of this letter
to the weekly newspapers, as was
done somet time ago with reference
to the first list that was issued. I
have sent out more than 35,000
copies of the first list and intending
purchasers are now filing applica-
tions in this office, which will be
held until the second day of Septem-
ber before being Opened. .AH those
who are ready to filé applications
may begin to do so in the manner
provided by law.
Veiy respectfully,
John J. Terrell,
Commissioner.
A Warning to Mothers.
Too much care cannot be used
with small children during the hot
weather of the summer months to
guard against bowel troubles. As a
rule it is only necessary to give the
ehild a dose of castor oil to correct
any disorder of the bowels. Do not
use any substitute, but give the old-
fashioned castor oil, and see that it
is fresh, as rancid oil nauseates and
has a tendency to gripe. If this
does not check the bowels give
Chamberlain's Colic, Cholera and
Diarrhoea Remedy and then a dose
of castor oil, and the disease may be
checked in its incipiency and all
danger avoided. The castor oil and
this remedy should^be procured at
once and kept ready-,fpr instant use
as soon as the first indication of any
bowel trouble appears. This is the
most succes8Íful treatment known
and may be relied upon with implicit
confidence even in cases of cholera
infantum. For sale by T. M. Coul-
son & Co.
