The Freedom Train once again rolled on to victory. The
Freedom Train, a decorated wheel chair won first place in the
Candystripers wheelchair parade held July 10. Conductor for the
train was Mrs. Nora Tyler who was all dressed up in overalls, hat
and of course her Freedom Bell.
The designers for the Freedom Train were Angela,
Athena, and Venus Stevens. Judging the wheelchairs were Mayor
Harry Gibson. Mrs. Phyllis Buzek and Father John Peters.
Second place honors went to Cheri Nolen and Bernadine
Kuenstler. Riding in the horse and carriage designed wheelchair
was Mrs. Audrey Karl.
Third place honors went to Amy McQuillen and Laura
Stary Miss Ruth Woodrome portrayed Betsy Ross.

steady to stronger on most
classes with last week's market.
We had a good run of cattle
considering the soaking rains in
our area with our regular house
full of buyers on hand.
The packer bulls sold steady
to stronger while the packer
cows were $2 to $3 per hundred
lower but selling with a lot of
activity and well in line with the
national markets.
The butcher calves sold steady
to stronger with a slightly larger
percentage going their route and
selling w ith a lot of demand.
The better quality Stocker
steer calves were the most active
class selling with the top end
selling around the $40.00 mark.
The lower quality cattle sold fully
steady.
