Texan Tailgaters are here, and
you are invited. Blaise Trahen
and Andy Linder are attempting
to bring more fan support to the
Tarleton State football games by
adopting a tradition already being
practiced by other universities.
Whether at home or away fans are
invited, as well as encouraged to
sho.w. up-early ', and have'a good
time. Barbeque/ dfiriks, and a gen-
eral love for ^Tarleton State Foot-
ball are the? only; requirements.
One can bring fooci/ make food,
or simply, enjoy the ipod that has
already been made in the parking
lot oufside of the, stadium.
-Tarleton has a, "no alcohol
rule," even at football'games/ so
It's'assumed that whether one is
of age or not tHe^rCile will be eft-
"forced. Although- this rule will
be in effect, students should not
be deterred from showing up'
and giving their full support. At
home .'gaines* theVeveiit starts a
few hours before the game.
The two ex-football players,
Trahen' and Linder, are "attempt-.
ing to start a new tradition; it's
been a long time coming. For a
school that's long on oral support,
but perhaps short on attendance
support, this new open pre-game
party should encourage fans to
embrace the games more openly.
Along with food and drinks, Tra-
' hen and Linder are* working to
find-bands to play before the tail-
gaters to stimulate a more crowd-
friendly atmosphere and encour-
age some fun and support.
If you've never been to a Tar-
leton football game, now is the
best chance to catch one. Again,
whether at home or.;avy*iy, Trahen
and Linder are working to fbrm
a force behind the .football play-
ers that will encourage .a, larger
fan base for home games as well
as away. The eveftt gives stu-.
dents and fans.an opportunity to
have fun as.well as show support
'for the football te^im. Tarleton
students should take advantage
of this opportunity not only 'to
have fun before the l?ig game, but
also to show some dld-fashioned
school spirit for the purple and
white. ' ; '

Lambert said he believes that the tuitiorv revenue bonds will be funded within a year. He-also'
said that it will be at least three years before.the facility is operational.
An advisory committee is being organized to assist with the design of the building. This
committee will include dairy faculty for th$ overall design, research faculty for lab design and
teaching faculty for classroom design. * _ , .
This facility will feature: free stall housing for 300 to 400 cows, state^of-the-art waste handling
protocols, classroom and laboratory facilities, dormitory space, technology for easy-changeover
of equipment, public accessibility and visibility and space for visitor and animal interaction.
"The fate of the old dairycenter has not been decided to my knowledge." Lambert said. "It
will likely be renovated and used as something else or torn down." 1
"We would like to thank President Dennis McCabe and Representative Sid. Miller for secur-
ing the authorization to construct this new facility," Dr. Don Cawthon, Dean of the College of
Agriculture afid Human Sciences, said. "The new facility will prove to be valuable not only for
the College of Agriculture and Human Sciences and the university at large, but to the entire dairy

DO YOU KNOW JESUS?
Paul said in Philippians 3:10, "That I may know him and the power of his res-
urrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto
his death."
Jesus told the religious Jews of his time, "You know neither me nor my
father. If you had known me, you would have known my father also." John
8:19
It is imperative that each.one of us desires to know Jesus. He said in John
14:6, "I am the way, the truth and the life. No man cometh into the Father,
but my me."
