Block and Bridle
initiates survive
The Block & Bridle Club had
its initiation on Sept. 25 at the
TSU Ag Farm.
Following a week of wearing
wooden B's around campus in
search of members and officers
to get their signatures, 80 new
members completed the task and
joined the club. They also
elected Brenda Notes club
sweetheart.
Home ec meeting
The Texas Home Economics
Association held their annual
Fall meeting of District G at the
University of Mary Hardin at
M«bee Center in Belton, Texas,
on Oct. 4.
There were eight TSU Home
Ec. majors in attendance.
The Speaker of the day was
Jane Segerstrom, noted author
and lecturer of Houston, Texas.
The title of her speech" was
"Look Like Yourself and Love
It."
Order
mums early
The Horticulture Club will
take orders for homecoming
mums through next Thursday,
Oct. 16.
Bob Scott, owner of Scott's
Flowers, was the speaker at the
last Horticulture Club meeting.
Ski trip
Today is the last day to
register for the ski trip to Winter
Park/Mary Jane Colo. Booking
ends at 4:30 p.m. in the Student
Center. Faculty and employees
are invited to sign up too.
"Electric
Horseman"
to be shown
The- S.A.F. movie "Electric
Horseman'" will be shown in the
Fine Arts Complex Oct. 20 at 3
and 7 p.m.
S.A.F. admitted free, all
others will pay $2.00.

Tau Beta Chi Business Club
will discuss the possibility of a
field trip to General Motors
Corporation in Arlington and a
Dallas Maverick Basketball game

game is welcome to attend the
meeting on Oct. 6 at 5:30 p.m.
in room 114 of the H&B building.

bonfire instead of building floats
for the Homecoming parade.

Women accountants
Campus Digest News Service
One in three of all students
graduating in accounting in 1979-80
is a woman, according to the
American Institute of Certified Public
Accountants.
At the bachelor's degree level,
women received 36 percent of the
degrees in accounting in 1979-80,
compared to 34 percent the year
before. Women received 30 percent of
the master's degrees in accounting
awarded in 1979-80, compared to 27
percent a year earlier.
Personal finance mini course
A mini Course will be given
on Personal Finance in the
Student Center Nov. 3 and 4
from 4 to 8:30 p.m.
Speakers will be Ronnie
Sullins of Town and Country
Bank, Billy Hassler of
Production Credit Association
and Bob Boone of Boone Real
Estate.
Topics to be covered include
student loans, C.D.'s, how to
finance and credit, how students
may buy their own home, and
many other subjects of interest
to students, faculty, and towns
people.
The fee is $1. For more
