Financial Aid offers
jobs for students
The Financial Aid office has
released a list of on-campus job
openings for students. These
positions are for both regular
and work-study students.
The positions are: chemistry
lab assistant, chemistry
stockroom assistant,
maintenance student boiler
watchman, ag research assistant,
biology lab assistant (several
positions), accounting lab
assistant, language lab assistant,
and p.e. intramural official.
For more information,
contact the Student Financial
Aid Office in Davis Hall.
From the Hoblitzelle Foundation
"Kaleidoscope," a weekly
variety program featuring
different people and interests
will premiere Nov. 5 from
12:15-12:45 p.m. on Warner
Cable's channel 6.
It will be rebroadcast from
6:30-7 p.m.
Planned programs include a
feature on the American Cancer
Society's Bike-a-thon, a
horticulture demonstration
featuring Dr. Michael Wade of
the horticulture faculty, a
feature on Dublin High School
using a news-interview format,
and a puppet show presented by
drama students.
Richard Butler, Ranger
freshman, and Susan Malone,
Comanche senior, will serve as
news announcers on this week's
"TSU Friday Report" at
12:15-12:45 p.m. and 6:30-7
p.m. Butler also will conduct the
interview.
Pat McNeil, Stephenville
freshman; Billy Haynes, Whitney
freshman; and Tom Collins, a
Bryan freshman, will be news
writers for the "TSU Friday
Report."
Haynes will operate the
camera and Lonnie Nichols,
• Buffalo, N.Y. senior, will
operate video. News director is
Jim Whitfield of the journalism
faculty. Tom Watson of the
speech faculty is program
director.
University receives grant
"Kaleidoscope' variety
program airs Nov. 5
The university has been
awarded a $58,171,80 grant
from the Hoblitzelle Foundation
of Dallas to purchase equipment
to be used in the new $7 million
fine arts center scheduled for
opening next fall. The grant was
announced Saturday by Dr.
Chris Rosner, head of the
Department of Music and Art.
Included in the equipment to
be purchased under the grant
will be 16 mm slide projectors,
35 mm slide projectors, cassett
synchronizer and three speed
dissolver, heavy duty cassette
recorders, 9' x 12' screens with
front and rear projectors, and
overhead projectors.
The 85,000 square foot fine
arts center will house the music,
drama, and art departments. It
will feature two main
auditoriums, a workshop
theatre, and a childrens' theatre
in the central area. Fanning
outward from this area will be.
band and choir rehearsal halls,
practice rooms, speech-drama
labs, and art design labs.
The red brick building is
predominantly a one-story
complex sprawling 300 feet in
one direction and 400 feet in the
other, but the stage lofts
towering 80 and 68 feet into the
air make it the campuses tallest
structure.
