Dear Santa:
I understand that you again
have big plans for all the deserv-
ing ones. As you know, I have
never been one to ask for speci-
fic things, but have always been
content with the many nice gifts
you have given which were so
richly deserved. I am weil aware
of the basis you use for deciding
to whom the gifts are to be giv-
en. Knowing the criteria used in
the above mentioned determina-
tion, I cannot help but mention
five people who are not worthy
of consideration even for the
smallest gift in your large sack.
These people listed in order of
unimportance are Student Body
President - Jimmie Reed; Dean
of Men - Mike Leese; Dr. Dick
Smith, Government professor;
Dean of Women - Alice Mat-
thews; and Physical Education
Department Head, Dr. John
Dunn. None of these people
have made one contribution to
benefit our students. The only
possible exception is Dr. Dick
Smith because four or five stu-
dents are passing his course at
the present time.
Therefore, I request replace-
ments for these people and any
other small gifts you think ap-
propriate.
As always,
Cecil C. Ballow
Dean of Student
Personnel Services
Dear Santa Claus:
Bring me 200 new parking
spaces next to the entrance of
every classroom building. A full-
time genie to handle requests
would be appreciated. Then,
too, there is a need for more op-
portunities, more challenges,
more facilities, and more com-
mitments to learning. But, just

Mr. Santa Claus
North Pole, U.S.A.
Dear Mr. Claus,
Well, it's time once again for
my annual "my - hand's - out -
because - I've - been - a - good -
boy" letter to you. I really have
been a good boy, but then you
know that. Without further
ado, here is my list of goodies
that I want for Christmas:
1. An office chair of my very
own so that I can return the one
I've borrowed.
2. Doughnuts on Thursdays
in the Tarleton Center.
3. A retroactive pay raise for
all TSC faculty and staff with
34% interest so that we can com-
pete (well, almost) with labor.
4. A roping dummy for each
dorm ramp to cut down on the
long lines around the one we
now have.
5. A 100% increase in the
number of 10-minute parking
spaces in front of the Center.
6. Good grades for all those
who will try to salvage the semes-
ter in these last 2 weeks after be-
ing reticient or passive (or just
plain lazy) for the first 16
weeks.
With all due respect,
Bill Bridges
Assistant Dean of Men
