Coach Roger McQuery's basketbailers have all pluses this year as they look forward
to a new season. With added height, depth, and a new gym, the Texans are looking good, i
Roundballers Prepare For Season
ki 'aTaa W i
With a team that aver-
ages 6'5" in height, and a
modern athletic facility at
his disposal, Texan Round-
ball coach Roger McQuery
is opimistic about the com-
ing season. 'We're anxious
start playing games,' he
stated In recent interview,
'We have, a good club, and
they have shown that they
can play ball and that they
came to play.'
Returning from last
season and adding exper-
ience to the team are Cliff
Wilkins, Jimmy Locke,
Tyler Tull, Donny Ivy, and
Richard Crockett. Wilkins,
a 5'9" junior, has lettered
two years at TSC and is a
hustler. Tull, a senior
letterman standing in at
6'4", is 'consistent, a
100%er in every sense of
the word', according to
McQuery. 'A real find per-
former,' is Ivy 6'3". and
6'7" Jimmy Locke is 'real
good', in McQuery's words.
Still another letterman,
Richard Crockett, stands
6*8".
Transfers and fresh-'
man recruits make up the
rest of the Purple and
White roster. Haywood
Henderson is a 6'1" trans-
fer that McQuery says is
doing a 'good job on de-
fense.' An Indiana transfer,
6'0" Wayne Allen, is, as
the coach puts it 'a fine
outside shooter,' Probably
our finestirebounderi James
Warren^ a 6'5" junior trans-
fer. Rounding out the trans-
fers is James Creel, at 6'2"
Ineligible at present is
Ennis Watson, a tall 6'9"
sophomore transfer from
College Station. He will be
eligible at mid-term.
Freshman recruits in-
clude Pete Newburn, 6'3";
Tommy Moore, 6"4"; and
Howard Blaylack, 6'6".
According to McQuery
the team has more enthu-
siam because of the new
physical plant and more
scholarships.
The first game is Nov.
24 here, against Texas
Weslayan College.

WITH you IN MIND
From the preface of the
score, 'Tell It Like It Is'
'is a folk musical about God,
who He is, how He reveals
Himself, what He is like,
and some of the problems
with which we are con-
fronted when we believe in
Him. It also tells how He
might reveal Himself in and
and through the individual
by the person of Jesus
Christ.'
