SECOND SEMESTER ANALYSIS
■ A .new Semester—a-nevy..e;hance;to pass the'courses that were
Jailed'.during the- last-eighteen weeks! There? !&' a saying that
gpes;"If.at first you >do not succeed—-try, try again." That has
.'some infcereatiri'g 'advice in it and' usually works out to the
'student's-' advantage. ■' ■ ; ' •
,,; M6st of the students, that failed last- segiester 'now know why.
It was either not enough study-or not enough; background. Even
if the-ytu'dent failed, .he could not lpossibfy have been in class
all semester without learning something to 'help him. Now,
when and if, he has-to take the course again,: he will; have a
better beginning than, the average new student. ^
T^he second semester brings other things besides studying.
.There will be spring dances and parties, new sports,, new wea-
ther and many new adventures. To most, however, the enter-
tainment field will be the most interesting.
Although the second semester will seem longer because there
are fewer holidays, there really, are not any more • weeks: of
.days- hi, it than in the first
/, /There are new and 'interesting.happenings in store- for each
raikt every one connected with John Tarleton Agricultural Col-
lege. Some things we know will""happen;,.some we cannot pos-
sibly imagine. Some boy. and" girl may fall in love, some stu-
dents may become more popular than ever before in their Ii'Ves.,
and others may have ^things happen that will affect them for
the rest of their lives. Some happenings will bring good conse-
quences; some will be disastrous, but, nevertheless, this, second
semester will leave its mark in .some way on .every life that
lives through it.

New interest has been added to
J-TAC's campus since mid-term in
the form of new students. You had
better get your bid. in* early be-
cause in a few weeks they'will all
he- going steady—then it. will be
too late.
Never mind getting interested, in
the new arrivals to Lower Gough—
Gene Marrs and Billie Dale Rob-
'ertH because ©'eney a transfer from
Tech, h&s come to- be with Stanley
Blackwell, and Billie Dale, ( ti
transfer from North Texas, has
come to be with her boy friend,
"Pete'' Smith. G.etie is even sport-
ing' a diamond ring—third finger,
left hand,
"Trouble'' Laird arid Charles
Simpson (two campus Casanoyas)
left at mid-term,. but Sonny Chase
came back, so that makes up for
the loss.
Cfin yon imagine Sam Maglitto
interested in a girl of hia own*?
Me usually spends his time- heck-
ling his boy friends' dates, but
now Joann Bradley seems- to have
interested him.
Ann Jea-nnes' interest seems to
be turned toward Myrl ICelton. He
didn't stay but of circulation long
Johnny Garritty is spending'
most of his- spare time with Tues-
day Stasny, and Tuesday doesn't
seem to-mind at all..
It looks UVe Ed Thiele hag won
out, with Lynn McGreg'go-r—wha*
could' have happened to Kuss?
, What is Margie Withers gain?'
to do now that Ferg. haa ,le£t? I
I- wonder if she will be as true
as Peggy-Nell ^Hoover is to her
Aggie.
Certain hoys- have been trying1
to be too possessive—you may find
it won't work to say "We're
through if-you. have other-dates.."'
C. A.. Wilkins audi Skipper Sneed
are going together fairly steady
now—anyway, that's the way it-
looks.
Lila. and s Grace-.,were also- left1
behind by Earl and Bob—the mail
from Agg'iel'and should be heavy
this semester.
Jack and Randy Hart and Clin-
ton Howeth will make some lucky
e'irls wonderful wives some day.
These three boys are living* in an
! apartment off the campus and not
I only keeping house for ' them-
| selves, tfut cooking too. Thiy is a
.bet you casm'fe overlook,
'Talmadge Bolding and Benton
White are two ex-Tarletonites who
are back in school this term.
I'd . better take time out ,and..go;
find some more new n^irtegr -f6r
next week. u.-'-1-*
