Sing At Episcopal
Church Sunday
This year's director of the Tarie-
ton Choir, Mr. McKinnon, ahnoun-'
ced that the choir will sing Sun-
day, October 17'at 7:30' p.m. at
the Episcopal Church. The choir
is to sing "Beautiful Savior" by
Christiansen and- "Hallelujah,
Amen" by Handel. The choir .is also
preparing for their Christmas pro-
gram. . *
Recently elected officers Include

eleted president. Patsy Turner,

Sunday'Night
The Tarleton State College Choir
will sing at the Sunday night
services of the St. Luke Epiisi-opal
Church.
The announcement was made to-
day-by Prof. Robert MacKinnon,
director.

Tomorrow is the date of the
election of tfie Homecoming Queen.
FFA OUTLINES
'54 SCHEDULED
Don Pendleton opened the meet-
ing of the FFA Monday night with
the regular Chapter ceremony. Sev-
eral objectives were setup for the
year. These include the opening and
closing of the Chapter meetings
with the official ceremony, the
studying of parliamentary proced-
ure at some of the meetings, the
election of the FFA Sweetheart
who is to be presented in the Cen-
tennial parade, and the holding of
some FFA socials during the year,
both inside the campus and out.
The members also discussed the
buying of awards for. team mem-
bers of the 'TSC Livestock Judg-
ing team, continuing FFA Schol-
arship awards' of $25 to each of.
the - three high point .team mem-
hers in poultry judging at the
Tri-Area contest,. sponsoring the
Fort. Worth-- 'gtock Show poultry-
judging contest held the last Sat-
urday.of the. show, and sponsoring
the FFA judging contest and the
4-H; Club judging contest in the
spring at TSC.
The TSC. officiers installed the
District FFA officers of Areas IV
at their organization meeting which
is held this year at Olne'y, on- Sept,
23; Stephehville on $ept. 27; Clyde
on Sept. 29; Coleman on Oct. 26.
The regular meeting nights are
every first and, third Monday
nights.
The election, under the super-
vision of the recently elected Stu-
dent Council,' will be conducted by
ballot in the Rec Hall from 8 a.m.
to' 5 p.m. for the entire student
body.
These nominees include Evelyn
Carleton, Gonzales; Carolyn Cole,
Stephenville; Beth Knickerbocker,
Crystal City; Linda Lee, Stephen-
ville; Joyce Short, Post; Jerry
Stubblefield, Woodson, and Jeanie
Calhoun, Fort Stockton.

Evelyn is- the reporter for the
Senior Class, feature editor of the
Grassburr, secretary of. the Ag-
gettes, and a "member of the Eter-
nas. She is an elementary educa-
tion major who plans to attend

Visit New Mexico
It was "go west young man" for
14 members of the animal hus-
bandry 185 class and "its professor,
W. W. Reed.
The group arrived back "in Ste-
phenville last Tuesday after a
tour of ranches in New Mexico; '
Professor Reed pointed out that
the tour was made so that the
students might , see and study
ranching in another State -besides
Texas.
The first ranch the group visit-
ed was at Raton, N. M. It was call-
ed the; T.O. Ranch.- From there
they went into Colorado and then

fees will bs due on or before, Fri-
day, Oct. 15, the ■ .business ' office
announced today.
The office pointed out that a
penalty will be charged for late
payment.
The amount due will vapy among
the students according to which

One Day Added
To Easter Period
The executive committee ap-
proved . that; spring holidays be
changed to include-.Thursday, April
7. Spring holidays begin on Wed-
nesday, April 6 at 5 p.m. and
conclude on Tuesday, April 12: at
8 a.m.
This is -an extension of one day
to that; now shcrtn in the cata-
logue, and it conforms with the
holiday authorization for A&M
College, and other units of the sys-
tem.

being told she was a queen nomi-_
nee. Evelyn is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. H. V. Carlton of
Gonzales.
Carolyn, a business administra-
tion major, is the (laughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Bras J. Cole of Stephen-
ville. She '.is a senior here at Tarle-
ton, and plans 'to attend the Uni-
versity of Texas after graduation.
Last year Carolyn was a Military
Sponsor and a member of the Eter-
nas; this year she is the reporter
for the Student Council and' re-
porter'for the . Eternas. One of
her favorite pastimes is listening
to Nat "King"- Cole records.
Bui Ross
Beth, the daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. H. W. Knickerbocker of Crys-
tal City, is an elementary educaj
tion major. She attended Sul Ross
last year an^l has plans to attend
Texas .Tech fo'tfir graduation from
Tarleton. Collecting- poetry is one
of her favorite, hobbies. When
told she was a .queen nominee, she
smiled and said, "I'b tickled."

PLANS SHAPING
FORHOMECOMING
The Tarleton Homecoming' Com-
mittee urges' that all organizations
and department, including the Ca-
det Corps, enter the October 30
Homecoming Parade.
These entries should be decorated
as much as possible since the floats ,
decorated by the business men
will.be,elaborate this year.
Prizes will be given for the most
outstanding entries in the parade.
Classes will be dismissed at 8:40
a.m. Saturday, October 30. All en-
tries for the parade must'be on
the Football Parking lot at 9:30
a.m. ' ,
The Committtee met September/
24 with Pjes.,.E. J. Howell and
Dean Cecil Ballow. The Commit-
tee mad© plans for an ex-students'
meeting in the Cardinal Room after
the Tarleton-Schreiner football
game. Mr. Estelle Scott, president
of the Ex-Students Association ex-
tends an invitation to all faculty
members to attend this meeting.
Thye Student Council is arranging'
for a dance to be held on the
Campus after the pageant fpr pres-
ent and ex-students..

its second meeting of the year on
Friday, Oct. 15, at 4 p.m. in'-the
apartment of Mrs. Mary Todd,;
Dean of Women and sponsor of
the club. . ' '
Mrs. Todd advised that this would
be an-important meeting and urges
all girls who live in Stephenville
or commuate from near-by towns
to attend.
The purpose of '.the club is to
bring the 'g'irls who live off the
campus in closer touch with the
college activities.
