Text: "Amarillo, Potter Co; Texas. June the 8th 1903. Mr. W. L. Welch Bellevue, Texas. Dear sir and friend:- Will you pleas [sic] send to me one of those sample ironing tables that is in my shop - send me the nicest once that is standing aganst [sic] the turning lath [sic]. Send it by Express C.O.D. I want to try to work up some sort of a trade on some of the territory on it if I have the opertunity [sic]. I may get a chance to trade some of the territory for some property in this country or in this town. I aught [sic) to have power of attorney from you to sign your name to any trarsfer [sic] that I may want to mak [sic] in regard to this Patent business. I may have to give some man a commission to help me make a trade if I can find the right sort of a man to talk up a trade. I would like to have the propper [sic] authority to close and sign up any and all papers on all trade [sic] that I may be able to close on this Patent in a legal manner, and should I succeed in making any deal for property I will have the deeds made to both of us jointly with the commission counted out - leaving all net proceeds to be devided [sic] between you and myself. I don’t want to make any effort in regard to making any trade on territory untill [sic] I get a sample and also the propper [sic] authority to close and sign up the papers in a legal manner."
