Thia week several hundred earnest believers in Chambers
of Commerce in general and the Navasota Chamber in particu-
lar will tale the field to enlist new reeruits in this organ iv»-
tion which has for its sole purpose the promotion of the city’s
business and commercial welfare. They are not going put on
a charitable campaign nor for the solieitation of funds for the
promotion of the interest of any one group no matter how
worthy; but they are working toward theirrprosperity-— the
dosperity of every man and woman earning his or her liveli-
-Udod in this city.
They have no apologies to make, for their approach to the
person who is not a member of the Chamber and should be
is in the nature of presenting an offer to assist in a worthy
undertaking—an endeavor whieh yields a return to every in
dividual earning his livelihood in Navasota.
The Navasota and Grimes County Chamber of Commerce
has been an effective institution, an organization that has ac-
complished the tasks which eome within its scope. Every ada-
ed bit of man power, every additional dollar of support is con-
verted into increased effectiveness.
.Financia support of the Chamber is not a donation. It is
an investment—a business insurance that pays dividends.
v I not only take this opportunity to thank those loyal
workers .for and believers in the Chamber who next week will
. give of their time to strengthen the organisation, but urge
that those whose interest may have been passive. study the
activities of the C’hamber, acquaint themselves with its func.
i lions, learn of its accomplishments.
