THE GALLEON'
With Spring
Mona Faye Roberts
Oh, for but one hour
Alone with the coming spring!
When the sap-blood is rising to
Nature's call,
Giving the trees a revived beauty,
Giving my heart a soul.
Oh, for but one hour
To watch half opened blossoms
Blush in their timid fragrance,
Knowing not their shame is beauty,
Pleasing and fresh.
Glories, vital spring!
Spring that fills the arteries with
Maddening desire to live;
Spring that gives the dreamer a cause
To recall his dream.
If I might only, for one long hour,
Breathe with spring.-,-, ,,,,---- - ------L---- -----------L -- ------- ---
