Shortly before midnight Thursday
an attempt was made co rob the "ware-
house of Ketelsen & Degetau at the cor-
ner of Second and xeon streets but the
burglars were frightened away by the
special watchman who fired twice at
them. The men dropped a flashlight.
Estevan Delgado who was in a great
hurry to reach the Santa Fe bridge was
later arrested by policeman Alderete'.
Carlos Savedra well known in police
and "immigration circles lies in his home
on Seventh street with a bullet wound
through his left leg the bones of wheh
were shattered by the bullet. He fails
to account for the wound and the police
express tne opinion that he got one of
the bullets fired from the watchman's
revolver.

HUSBANDj COBB WINS LAND SUIT
Vecinta Zapata has filed suit against
the Santa Fe railroad for ?15000 dam-
ages in the 34th district court. The
plaintiff who is the mother of four
children alleges that her husband was
employed as a section hand by 'the de-
fendant company and was sent out on a
tricycle by the section foreman on No-
vember 4 at Zuni station in New Mex-
ico and was run over by the passenger
train and was Instantly killed.
In the case of Zack L. Cobb vs. Au-
gust Reese suit to try title to land on
The Island in the San Elizario grant
judge Walthall Friday instructed the
jury in the 41st district court to return
a verdict for the plaintiff.
The suit of L. C. Burt vs. George
Pence et al. to rescind a sale is on trial
in the 41st district court.
In the county court the case of R. L.
McNeal vs. Theo. Knacopolus suit for
damages Is on trial. The plaintiff avers
that the defendant riding in an auto-
mobile collided with a buggy in which
he was riding and damaged the vehicle.

A fire alarm at 5:30 p. m. Friday from
box 121 at the corner of Upson avenue
and Santa Fe street called the Sunset
department Co the Reo automobile gar-
age on Main street where an automo-
bile had exploded. No damage was done.
A second alarm at 6:20 from box 138
at the corner of Dallas and. Montana
streets called out the Mesa department.
Plumbers had left their furnaces in a
new building on the Boulevard between
Dallas and Lee streets. No damage was
done here.

POLICE RECOVER A LOT
OF VALUABLE STOLEN STUFF
Detectives have recovered $25 worth
of clothing recently stolen from John
Chriss and a 5200 watch stolen from a
man in the alley at the rear of the Grand
Central hotel.
Coffee and lard valued at $170 have
been returned to W. H. Constable.

"Weather Conditions.
During the last 24 hours the reported
precipitation was confined to the At-
lantic states Ohio valley Lake region
northern California Oregon and Wash-
ington. The eastern storm is now central
near the lower lakes.
Snow is falling over an area includ-
ing District of Columbia. Between
Florida and the lower lakes the tem
perature has declined with a sharp
fall on the coast of North Carolina.
From northern Texas northward and
northwestward the temperature has
risen decidedly.
The barometric pressure Is highest
over western Colorado and Utah.
Conditions favor a continuation of
fair weather here tonight and Sunday.
