Brownie Troop 58 had a
cookout Monday afternoon at
Jackson Park during their
meeting time.
Present were Stephanie
Byard, Janis Chumbley, Stacy
Fiel, Stacy Folley, Danee
Garvin, Sandra McWilliams,
Georgina Meis, Cindy Muir,
Carla Stroud and Suzanne
Wilson. Leader Becky Garvin
and assistant leader Pat Meis
were also present.
Stacy Fiel brought refresh-
ments of caramel apples and
Kool-Aid
Sydna Louise Moore and Joe
Winsell Hamilton were united
in marriage Saturday morning
at 11 o'clock in the First Baptist
Church in Canadian. Officiating
at the double ring ceremony
was the Rev. Paul Jantzen,
pastor of Trinity Church in
Lubbock.
The bride is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Walton Moore of
Canadian. Mr. Hamilton is the
son of Mr. and Mrs. Leroy
Hamilton of Quitaque.
The bride is a graduate of
Canadian High School and
Texas Tech University and is
an instructor/evaluator with
the Texas Rehabilitation Com-
mission. Mr. Hamilton grad-
uated from Quitaque High
School and Texas Tech and is a
sales representative for Ron
Sewell Ford in Lubbock.
Pre-nuptial organ selections
were played by Cathy Onerson
of Lubbock and included the
processional, "Allelujia" and
recessional "Ode to Joy". She
also accompanied the soloist,
Bobby Irby of Waco, a cousin of
the bride, who sang "Charity",
"All My Life" and "Wedding
Prayer".
Given in marriage by her
father, the bride was attired in
a formal gown of candlelight
guiana styled with a scoop
neckline and long sleeves which
came to a point on the hand.
The bodice was decorated with
venice lace. The skirt fell from
an empire waist, with a train
falling from the back waistline.
The layered veil of candlelight
illusion was attached to a
face-framer head piece of
candlelight Venice lace. The
bride carried a bouquet of silk
and dried flowers in yellow,
orange, brown and beige with
beige and brown ribbons.
The bride wore a gold
bracelet belonging to her
grandmother, Mr. Ruby Moore,
which had been a wedding gift
from her husband.
The matron of honor was
Paula Welsh of Denver, a sister
of the bride. Her other sisters,
Dianne Biggerstaff of Good-
Duplicate Club
plays Tuesday
The Fortyniners Duplicate
Bridge Club met at the WCTU
Building Tuesday afternoon,
October 5, with three tables of
players playing the Howell
movement.
Winners were, first place,
Maudaline Hutton and Iva Nell
Murphy; second place Bessie
Mae Hext and Evelyn Newton,
and third place, Violet Mathers
and Violet McAfee.
The next meeting of the club
will be Tuesday afternoon,
October 19, at 2 o'clock at the
WCTU Building. Anyone inter-
ested in playing duplicate
bridge is welcome to come. If no
partner is available one can
probably be supplied. For more
information call 323-6207.

Hensley of Weatherford, Okla-
homa were bridesmaids. They
wore floor length gowns of
brown guiana, styled similarly
to the bride's gown. Their dried
flowers in colors like those of
the bride were arranged in
small fireside baskets.
Verlon Hamilton of Roanoke,
Texas was his brother's best
man. Randall Hamilton and
Hoss Hamilton, also brothers,
of Quitaque, were the grooms-
men.
Terry Woods of Amarillo,
Bob Welsh of Denver and
Chuck Hensley of Weatherford,
served as ushers.
Following the ceremony the
bride's parents were hosts for a
reception in the Fellowship Hall
of the church. The bridegroom's
table featured a double
wedding ring chocolate cake. A
votive candelabra centerpiece
decorated the table.
The bride's table, which was
centered with. a fall flower
basket held the wedding cake,
which was decorated in fall
colors.
For the wedding trip to
Santa Fe, New Mexico, Mrs.
Hamilton wore a gray pinstripe
pants suit.
The Hamiltons will be
making their home in Lubbock.
