fund drive to raise $2,100

Canadian's Salvation Army
Local Service Unit held its 1975
"kick off breakfast Tuesday
morning at the Sage Restau-
rant. and volunteer solicitors
began a campaign to raise
$2,100 during the next week.^
Gary Minven is the 1975
Campaign Chairman.
Minyen opened the campaign
with a pep talk for workers, on
the topic of "Helping Others ,
and urged workers to make a
special effort to meet the $2,100
goal set this year, since no
finance campaign was conduct-
ed in Canadian last year.

man; Carolyn Gaston, treasur-
er: Ben Ezzell, Malouf Abra-
ham, Charles Cole, Sheriff
Elton Corley, Bill Popham, J.C.
Clark and Harry Rathjen.
The local service unit has
provided food, transportation
aid, lodging, medical aid, and
clothing; and sent two boys to
summer camp last year.
Donations to the Salvation
Army campaign may be made
by mail, if personal solicitation
is not made, to the Salvation
Army in care of Carolyn
Gaston. Hood Abstract Compa-
ny, in Canadian, or by handing
donations to any member of the
local committee.
Part of the funds collected
remain with the Local Service
Unit, and part go to State
Salvation Army headquarters
in Dallas to be used in the
various projects of the
Salvation Army statewide,
including disaster relief, sum
mer camps, and homes for
unwed mothers.

new area representative for the
Salvation Army, was on hand
Career Day
for seniors
February 12
Canadian High School Coun-
sellor Floyd Murry announced
this week a Senior Career Day
to be held next Wednesday.
February 12 starting at 9
o'clock in the morning.
Representatives from uni-
versities, denominational
schools, junior colleges, voca-
tional schools and the military
services will be at the school to
offer advice and guidance to
senior students and their
parents. An expert on financial
aid will also be present.
The visiting advisors will be
at the school until noon, or
longer if necessary to answer
questions
