Mrs. Reece Ward was elected

afternoon in the home of Mrs.
Marvin Lott, Jr., for their an-
nual business meeting.
Other officers named were

KACHINA CLUB EXPRESSES
THANKS TO THE PUBLIC
The Kachina Club wishes to
express its thanks to all those
who helped in any way to make
their Christmas lighting program
a success this year.
The 25-foot Christmas tree,
which was placed on the south-
west corner of the square, was
one of great beauty, brilliantly
lighted with 200 eight-inch bulbs
of assorted colors. The tree was
built of one-fourth inch pipe by
Carl W. Duncan of Aspermont,
and was covered with green
cedar, furnished by the local
highway department.

square stood a Nativity scene,
life-sized, made by club mem-
bers, who were assisted by the
F.F.A. boys of Aspermont High
School.
On top of the courthouse was
a 12-foot star, lighted with blue
bulbs. In addition to this was
two seven-foot candles on the
front of the courthouse, with a
string of colored lights from
each corner of the courthouse to
the front poles. On the poles
was placed a lighted Santa face
and huge candy canes. The com-
plete picture created one of
brilliant spectacular and formed
a background for a visit from
Old Saint Nick, sponsored by the
Aspermont fire department.
Those working on the tree,
outside of club members, and to
whom we would like to express
our sincerest "Thank You" are:
Carl W. Duncan, B. G. Cook,
Jr., and Jimmy Hickman, who
built the tree; Virgil Kolb, who
built the manger for the Nati-
vity scene; Eddie Miller and C. S.
Gibson, who contributed mater-
ials for the tree; Jack Douglass,
who cantriubted material for
the Nativity scene; Carl Barton,
who built the star and lighted
the tree; and D. L. Carman and
the highway department for fur-
nishing the cedar.
Those deserving special thanks
for working on the tree are
Nancy Lynch, Charles Aberna-
thy, Harold McNutt and Garrett
Hecht.
Also a part of the club's Christ-
mas program was the sponsor-
ing of the residence lighting
contest. Twenty-five entries
were judged. Prizes of $5.00
$2.50 were given in three divi-
