On Monday evening, December
Tth, the Book Club was hosted
by Myrtle Commons in the O. J.
Webb home. Peggy Lindley
gave a most enjoyable review
of his most recent book, "Christ-
mas With Ed Sullivan".
Ed Sullivan opens the book
with his own poignant and mov-
ing story, "A Journey Through
Many Christmases", which re-
counts from his boyhood through
his rise to fame, the holiday
seasons he remembers all over
the world—some of them deep-
ly inspirational, others sparkling
with Joy and fun.
Added to Ed's own memories
are the favorite recollections and
stories of many of his famous
friends—including Jack Benny,
Bing Crqsby, James Cagney,
J. Edgar' Hopvcyr, and many
others. Here 'is all tfie fact and
fancy, faith and folklore of the
season, in a book for every
family to treasure.
At the social hour, a delicious
refreshment plate was served to
Vernell Driver. Jo Metcaif, and
Mrs. Webb, who were guests,
and the following members-
Nadine Bryson, June Adkins.
Marie Ward, Norma Ribbins,
Bobbye Mathis, Margie Lott, Af-
ton Martin. Mae Payne Diana
