TOLEDO, Ore.:-—Last Sunday marked the beginning of a new
congregation in Waldport, Oregon. There were 33 present at our
first service, 13 from the local community. ihi=e members had
been found, and two more showed up at the meeting.
The IOOF Hall is rented and regular church services are to be
conducted at 3 p.m. Sundays until further help can be had.
Waldport is a fast growing community on the coast and on famous
highway 101 where 36 intersects. It offers many attractions such as
several kind of fishing, crabbing, boating, etc.
Preachers and congregations looking for new fields to work on
should investigate Oregon. There are several places needing new
congregations already. Indeed, the harvest is ready here. Let us
send more information. (M. E. (Gene) Waldrum, P. O. Box 638,
Toledo, Oregon 97391.)

Christian Medical Practice
Receives Planning Grant Funds
DECATUR, Geo.:—Plans for a Christian group medical practice
in the Atlanta area have been brought closer to reality by the recent
awarding of a $200,000 grant to Decatur Church of Christ Senior
Housing, Inc. The grant award was based on a favorable feasibility
report and will fund the Planning stage of development.
The Christian medical practice will not only serve the health
needs of thousands of Atlanta area residents but is also designed as
a home base for medical missionaries who can serve abroad on a
rotating basis. Dr. Robert Clark, who is involved with the mission
work in Guatemala, will come to Decatur in August to begin work
with the project in establishing the group practice.
Plans call for health-care service to begin in 1979. Over the next
several years twenty or more physicians will be needed in primary
care and several specialties, as well. Christian physicians and other
health professionals are urged to contact Joe Glenn, (404) 633-9242,
1677 Scott Blvd., Decatur, Georgia 30033, for further details.
