Tech library recently by stu-
dents of the Church of Christ
Bible Chair at the College.
The unusual collection
selected on a basis of nationali-
ties of foreign students current-
ly enrolled at Tech, according
to Marston Meador, Dallas sen-
ior and chairman of the selec-
tion committee.
Several of the translations
are in one or more volumes,
containing modern and ancient
versions, as well as colloquial
Lord’s day the regular schedule
will be followed
Plumlee had preached in Ok-
lahoma and North Texas before
moving to Galena Park. While
in North Texas, Plumlee was a
member of the panel television
show each week entitled, "Know
Your Bible.”

Strickler moved to Oklahoma
City in February, 1965, and be-
came an employee of Automat-
ic Business Machines. In Au-
gust of 1965 he became part
time associate minister in the
Del City congregation.
John R. Stewart is presently
in his 11th year with the Del
City congregation as regular
minister.

OKLAHOMA CITY — The eld-
ers of the Del City Church of
Christ in Oklahoma City,
named Don Stridden a* full-
time youth evangelist and asso-
ciate minister, Feb 14.
His duties will be to organize
and develop an active young
peoples’ program in the church.
He is scheduled to organize and
execute a well-planned visita-
tion work, teach classes, and
fin the pulpit when the regular
minister is away.
Stridden attended Harding
College, Searcy, Ark. 1956-58;
he spent one year at North-
western State CoUege, Alva,
Okla.; also, he completed sev-
eral courses in Southeastern
State CoUege, Durant, Okla.
He began full-time preaching
in Alva, where he spent ap-
proximately two years. He be-
gan preaching for the church in
Arnett, Okla., in March of 1960,
and remained with the work
until April of 1963. Then, he
moved to Caddo, Okla., where
he spent approximately two
years.

Plans Meeting with Plumlee

will do the preaching in a gospel

stadt, Germany. They are un-
der the direct supervision of lo-
cal missionaries or of other
Christian families responsible
for the spiritual development. -
Students will, while abroad,
conduct a study in the history
of the church in Europe and a
study in European cultural his-
tory. They will also be taking
independent study courses, in-
cluding foreign languages,
aimed at completing require-
ment for an OCC degree, ex-
plains James Parker, director
of the program.
The Program is aimed at giv-
ing OCC students an opportuni-
ty to broaden their educational
experiences in academic as
well as spiritual training to
serve the two reasons for which
the college was founded,, ex-
plains James O. Baird, presi-
dent

Greer and Fecht are open to

first women’s dormitory and
first men’s dormitory at Okla-
homa Christian Colle,

lege’s first president and first
board chairman.
In special ceremonies on the
200-acre campus during the col-
annual lectureship, the
men’s dormitory was named in
honor of Brother L. R. Wilson,
first president and now presi-
dent emeritus.
The women's dormitory will
stand as a memorial to Brother
G. R. Tinius, one of the princi-
pals behind the college’s found-
ing and the first chairman of
the board of trustees. The
Texas Tech Bible Chair Youth
Give Foreign-Language Bibles
LUBBOCK — A gift of for- , versions of the Old and New
Testaments.
Included are translations in
Arabic, Portuguese, Chinese,
Spanish, Thai, Vietnamese,
Russian, Italian, Greek, Warau,
Cambodian, Bengali, Urdu, Tag-
alog, Turkish, Sanskrit,
Quechua, Guajira. Basque,
French, Persian, Syriac, Japa-
nese and the original Hebrew.
The volumes were obtained
from the American Bible Socie-
ty, Meador said. Copies of
these translations were also
placed in the Ross-Gililland
Memorial Library at the Bible
Chair building.

Sweden in June under the over-
sight of the Twelfth and Drexel
elders had taken the lead in
planning the meeting.
Ladies of Twelfth and Drexel
provided luncheon. Bill Burton
as an elder of Twelfth and
Drexel was chairman of the
meeting. Mitchell Greer with
seven years experience in
Sweden took the burden of pre-
sentation to review the history
and prospects of the work.
Elders from Brookside were
C. L. Mansur, J. E. Wright and
Ray Felts and their preachers
were J. Paul DuBois and Mitch-
ell Greer. From East Main,
Shawnee, elders were L. M.
Pettyjohn, Anthony Lunsford
and Loyd Wills. Clinton elders
attending were Milton Webb
and J. G. Stratton. Walter P.
Bryan is the Clinton preacher
and he was part of the Clinton
group. Twelfth and Drexel el-
ders were Bill Burton, Leon
Coleman and Wilson Meek.
Preachers from Twelfth and
Drexel were Gerd Fecht, Mick-
ey Gilliland and J. Harvey
Dykes. Charles Custer and Carl
Flynn serve as treasurers of
the Twelfth and Drexel mis-
sions funds and they attended
the meeting.
