New Year Dance to
Be Sponsored Tonight
By The Yapper’
New Year will be welcomed in
tonight in many different homes
with watch parties, but the young-
er set plans to dance the last hours
of the old year away, when they
attend the dance tonight at the
Brown Gymnasium.
Tlie dance, which, is being spon-
sored by ‘The Yapper." the high
school paper, will begin at 8 p.
m. with Harvey Anderson and his
band furnishing the music. All
the proceeds will go to the con-
tinuation of the Yapper publica-
tion.
The college girls and boys, who
are home for the holidays, are in-
vited to attend along with the
high school students.
Pyt. and Mrs. Hubert Welton
Bruce left Thursday. to return to
his station after spending a 15-day
furlough with his parents. Mr. and
Mrs H. L. Bruce, and sister of
Cleburne and her parents. Mr.
and Mrs. Jim Dixon of Fort

The Double Four Club met Tues-
day afternoon in the home of Miss
Ann Kimbro on North Anglin
stieet. The open rooms were deco-
rated with the Christmas motifs
including the Christinas tree in
the living room.
The dining table was covered
with a hand-embroidered cloth
and centered with a reflector and
holly, while red tapers burned on
either side A manger scene was
placed on the bntfet.
A short business session was pre-
sided over by Mrs. O J. McCoy.
The remainder of the afternoon
was spent in playing games of <
forty-two.
Refreshments of fruit cake top-
ped by whipped cream, olives and
