Obituary
WILLIAM M. RICHARDSON was born on March 26, 1944 in Winona, WV to Thelma
Calloway Richardson and Lawrence Richardson. He was the third of nine children.
As a young child, his family moved to Wilmington, DE where he received his early
childhood education. After graduating from High School, he chose to join the Air
Force in 1963.
In the Air Force, he was stationed at Lackland Air Force Base, TX; Offutt AFB, NE;
Udorn, Thailand; Inoges, Spain; Clark Air Base, Philippines; Travis AFB, CA; CCK,
Taiwan; Randolph AFB, TX; McChord AFB, Washington; Howard AB, Panama; and
Patrick AFB, FL. He was a clerk typist for approximately eight years. He later cross-
trained to Advanced Air Transportation to better his chances for promotion. He
attained the rank of Senior Master Sargent (E.8) and earned an Associate's Degree.
He retired in 1989 after twenty-six years of service. He then worked for the U.S.
Post Office for 17 years.
In 1964, while stationed at Offutt AFB, he met and courted Daisy Davis. They
married on February 8, 1966. During their 49 year union, two children were born:
Regina Renee Moore (1966) and William, Jr (1970).
He passed away on December 1, 2015. He was preceded in death by his parents,
and five siblings. He leaves to mourn his wife, Daisy; daughter, Regina; son
William; daughter-in-law, Tondra; granddaughter, Alaina Idaho; grandson, Wyatt;
and step-granddaughter, Tanay Dula. The following siblings remain: brother, John
Hunt in Wilmington, DE; sister, Aylea and brothers, Lawrence and Leonard in
Pennsylvania.
"Rich" or "Phil", as he was affectionately called, was an avid bowler. In the San
Antonio metro area, he was known to say there was only one bowling alley that
he did not like. Even when his health was failing, he would be at a bowling alley
watching, coaching or cheering on other bowlers. He enjoyed teaching young
people to bowl. He never boasted or bragged but he had at least two perfect
"300" games.
He was one of the founding fathers of Traditional Community Fellowship Chapel
in Highland, CA.
Others mourning at this home-going of William are his bowling friends, numerous
military friends, three sister-in-law's, two brother-in-law's and numerous relatives
and friends.
