I returned last Sunday evening from trip near Ladonia. I went to Commerce last Thursday eve and spent the night. The next morning I went to Mr. Little's and found Miss Laura quite sick. I intended to attend the Picnic that was given at Ladonia on Friday, but I didn't go as Laura was sick. Saturday morning I came to Ray's Creek to Quarterly meeting (the place where I taught music), and stayed with Miss Madgie George, one of my music students. She is coming to spend a week with me, I expect about the time you come. I know you will like her, she is so lively. I don't think she is pretty, but she is a good girl. And I tell you what, she is worth a heap of property. And certainly you would not object to that. Sunday morning I came to the Greenwood neighborhood about eight miles from here, and heard a very good sermon and took dinner with Mr. Bud Greaves, one of my old sweethearts. Then in the evening, we started for home. My escort was Pa. I have been sick ever since I reached home. I never did have such a severe cold in my life. And O, such dreadful warm weather. It seems as if I can scarcely endure it some times.
I received another letter from Floyd, very good, he informed me that he was going to Waxahachie to study Law. I hope that he may have all the success that is possible.
