I regret exceedingly that I am unable to return to School, for I know if there ever was a person that needs more education, I am certainly that one. But I reckon I will have to agree with brother Robie in saying it was intended for us all to be fools, and I the "biggest one of the bunch." I don't know whether I will ever attempt to go to School or not. If I don't, ----- will get a terrible "blockhead" when he gets me. Perhaps when he becomes one of Texas' great lawyers he will want a wife with a better education and a stronger mind than I would be able to promise him in my self. Time changes all things, but we will wait and see if it brings a change over him.

Need I tell you what you already know? (i.e.) I have had the pleasure and fun of perusing that twice copied letter. And it was grand beyond description too, was it not? I know I haven't got much sense, but I do have a great desire to possess as much as she had when she composed that letter. I saw her last evening and I know the way she talked she is expecting a letter from you. Have you written to her lately? She received a Valentine from Ladonia, Fannin Co. bemeaning her for every thing that could be thought of (so she said.) She got as mad as you please, she said she is going to answer it in an April Fool. That shows her intelligence again, to make it known to any and every body. I would tell you some thing else in reference to her, but fear you might think I was meddling. I will wait until I see you, and I hope the time is not far distant.

I received a letter from Janie and she informed me that Effie Sherwood had quit Latin. I think if she had asked my advice on the subject I would have told her she ought to quit Latin and Music both before she begun them. But, as I was not afforded that "exquisite" pleasure, I will be content with people just going along and not asking me questions about any thing.
