The Student senate nas ap-
pointed five students to serve
on the Dress and Grooming
Those appointed are Rodney
Craig, Nancy Gunn, Jim Walk-
er, Ginger Williams, and Otis
Archie.
There has been some con-
fusion as to the purposes of
this committee in the past.
The general conception of
the student body is that the
committee has been appoint 3d
to set new norms concerning
the dress code. However, E.
B. My re, Dean of Students,
states, "The dress and groom-
ing standards are set by the
Board of Trustees of Howard
Payne, and until the Board
decides differently, the pres-
ent dress code will remain in
effect."
If a student is informed that
he has to get a naircut, or that
he or she is in violation of
the present dress and groom-
ing code, he may take his case
to the committee. The com-
mittee may decide that the
student is not violating the
code. If this should occur, the
final decision will be based
upon the policies in existence.
The committee has not set
meeting schedule. If anyone
has suggestions, comments or
complaints to bring before the
grooming and dress committee,
he should contact a member.
