. The first meeting of the
grooming and dress committee
will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday,
March 12, in Winebrenner
123, Dean E. B. Myre, Stu-
dent Senate sponsor, announc-
ed. ?:
All students who are in-
terested are encouraged to
attend, Myre said, and those
wishing to express ah opinion
on the subject may do so at
this meeting.
However, Myre continued,
the meeting will be conduct-
ed in an orderly manner so
students' wishing to make a
statement are to sign their in-
tentions in the Dean of Stu-
dents office so .an agenda may
be prepared. Myre stressed
that all interested students
should feel completely free
to speak.
The committee grew from
a senate meeting that ques-
tioned how guidelines were
established and regulated. Sen-
ate felt a. need for a com-
mittee on the topic and the
administrative council assist-
ed in formulating the group.
Dr. Guy Newman selected
five faculty and .staff mem-
bers to sit on the committee
and Senate named five stu-
dents. The president of the
■v college and the president of
the Student Association ari to
sit ex officio. The Dean of
Students will chair the group
and Vote only in case Of a
tie vote.
Students selected include
Connie Crimmings, Jim Walk-
er, Steve Ipngford, Nancy
Gunn and Rodney Craig. Fat-
uity and staff chosen are Miss
Lorraine Lincke, assistant
dean of students; Eddie Dan-
iel, assistant director of the
Academy* Montie Campbell,
psychology instructor; Mrs.
Ann Means, English ihstnic-
tor; and Dr. A. J. Turner, as-
sistant professor of religious
education.
Senate guidelines state that
the committee will be charg-
ed with the task pi deciding
grooming and dress regula-
tions through the Creation of
norms, which will be subject
to interpretation by the com-
mittee. The. administration
will continue to confront sus-
pected violators, but those
suspected will have recourse
to the committee.
The meeting Tuesday will
be the first of the newly es-
tablished Committee.

For Showing
"The Madwoman of Chil-
lot," a comic fable by Jean
Giradoux will be presented at
the Coggin Memorial Theatre
on March 12, 13 and 14 at 8
p.m. The production is under
the direction of Alex Reeve,
the Theatre director.
This presentation is a comic
fable in two acts. It has been
described as "a comedy of

one of the greatest of all
French dramatists." Giraud-
ous, the author, il recogniz-
ed as one of the 1930's leading
poets and dramatic artists.
The play is presented by
the Howard Payne College
Department of Speech and
Drama. All seats are reserv-
ed and numbered and admis-
sion is a dollar.

Baptist Theological Seminary,
where he has been on the

Senate Acts on Amendment
Arrangements have been
completed to open the Yellow
Jacket gymnasium on week-
ends for the remainder o:

9 a.m. until 12 noon, 2 until
4 p.m., and 6 until 9 p.m. each
