The annual Thanksgiving
supper was observed Thurs-
day night at the church. The
men honored the women and
let them eat first. We had
turkey with all the trim-
mings. Everyone seemed to
®Joy it.
Mrs. Marjorie Weeks has
returned from a two weeks'
visit with her graiaJpsqpsRteia
Ohio. She reported very cold
weather there.
Peggy Cox of Modesta,
Calif., visited Mrs. Glydie
Boydstun recently. Clydie's
former home was Modesta.
The children of Uncle
Sammie Galloway met
Saturday and Sunday at the
home of Mr. and Mrs. Luther
Reese. Those attending were
Mrs. Eunice Lawrence, Mr.
and Mrs. Don Lawrence of
Odessa, Mr. and Mrs. C. R.
Horton oi Spur. Mr. and Mrs.
Virgil Galloway, Mr. and
Mrs. Oscar Galloway, Mr.
and Mrs. J. R. Williams of
Rule. There are only five
children left of the 11
Galloway children.
Mr. and Mrs. Donnie Baker
of Canyon recently visited
her parents, Mr. and Mrs. L.
W. McDonald. Other visitors
were Mrs. Gloria McDonald
and son, Yolonda and
Virginia Soto, Linda Soto and
baby, and Linda and Billy
McDonald.
Mrs. Edith Meador visited
her father-in-law, Bruce
Meador of Jayton, Sunday.
Harvey Womack is a
patient in the Stonewall
Memorial Hospital. His
sister, Mrs. Nola Parker
visited him Sunday. She also
visited her son, Jr. Parker,
and family.
Ester Gomez of Aspermont
was home for the weekend
and attended church.
Bertha and Zona Galloway
and Jewell Anderson visited
Mrs. Clyde Galloway Wed-
nesday in Stamford. They
also visited Mr. and Mrs.
Ernest Freeman. Mrs.
Freeman had been in the
hospital but able to be back
home.
Jesse Morgan of Asper-
mont visited his son and
family, the Vance Morgans,
Sunday.
Rev. George Weeks
brought a message on love to
the Sr. Citizens of the nursing

Ronnie McNutt of Children*
visited his parents, Mr. aad
Mrs. John McNutt Saturday.
John had surgery recently at
Stamford but is at home
doing well.
John R. Anderson was a
patient in the Stamford
hospital, last week. He also is
at home doing well.
Rev. George Weeks was in
Brownwood last week at-
tending a mission program.
Mr. asid Mrs. Roy Ed-
wards, Latricia, Randa, and
Holly. Maria Graham and
Helen of Brownfield, spent
the weekend with their
parents, Mr. and Mrs. John
R. Anderson.
Mr. and Mrs. Kay Coplen of
Roscoe were in Aspermont
Sunday visiting his aunt, Mrs.
Mattie Coplen, and saying
hello to old friends.
Mrs. Maudie Patterson has
just returned from Oklahoma
where she visited Mr. and
Mrs. D. W. Cunningham of
Tulsa, Okla. and Mr. and
Mrs. Steve Carson of Ed-
mond, Okla. She visited
Saturday with her daughter
Helen Warner in Rotan.
Mr. and Mrs. John T.
Anderson of Rotan visited our
church for the Thanksgiving
dinner.

Parker of Sweetwater and J.
D. and Lena Parker.

nursing home Sunday af-
ternoon were presented by
Rev. James Woods, pastor of
the Central Baptist Church.

messages and good singing.
Bingo was played Thurs-
day, Nov. 11. Thase who
helped with the game were
Mrs. Beil, Inez Penrod, Mrs.
Poore. The residents tfcank
all those responsible for
donations made to the Bingo
game and other activities at
the home.
Residents of the home are
enjoying the newly acquired
parachtdt in their physical
tnerapy. A table ping pong set
has been added to the
physical activities of the

Basketball Tournament last
week. Old Glory girls won
second in the tournament and
Rachel Barrera and Melissa
Meier were named to the all-
tornament team. Old Glory
boys received a trophy for
sportsmanship.
Marcene Baldree, 1976
Stonewall County 4-H Gold
Star Girl, was accompanied
by her parents Mr. and Mrs.
Oren Baldree to Vernon last
Tuesday where they attended
the District Gold Star
Banquet.
Marcene has been elected
to the District 4-H Council
Teen Lab.
Katie Gerloff returned
home last week. She had
recently accompanied her
sister and husband, Mr. and
Mrs. Roy Wienke of Comfort,
to Lubbock. From there, she
and Mrs. Wienke flew to
Albuquerque, N. M., where
they visited in the home of the
Wienke's son and family, Mr.
and Mrs. Billie Ray Wienke
and daughter, and they also
visited in Belen, N. M., with
Mrs. Gerloff's son and
family, the Cecil Ray
Gerloffs. They returned to
Lubbock, spent several days
visiting in the home of Mr.
and Mrs. Doug Wienke and
Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Gerloff,
before returning home.
Cecil Klump is still a
patient in the Stamford
Hospital, but we are glad to
report he is improving.
Two former residents of the
Old Glory Community are
also patients in the Stamford
Hospital, they are Lelaiid
Asho ii of Abilene, and Mrs.
Adolph Lets of Stamford.
We are glad to report that
Mrs. Alfred Lets is back at
b rie and feeling better. She
was a patient in Hendricks
Memorial Hospital in Abilene
for several weeks, then spent

her daughter and family, Mr.
and Mrs. Walter Kretefemer
and son, in Haekell. She went,
back to the doctor in Abilene
last week and according to
relatives, she got a good
report from the doctor.
Mrs. Garrett Spltzer hap
her broken foot in a cant. She
is at home but, of course, is
experience a great deal of
difficulty in getting around.
Mr. and Mrs. Oren Baldree
have made several trips to
Abilene to visit their son-in-
law, Vernon Surratt Jr. of
Clyde. He is a patient in
Hendr icks Memorial Hospital
where he underwent major
surgery last Friday.
The Baldrees brought their
grandchildren Nikki and
Tasha Surratt, and Cris
Baldree home with them to
spend the weekend here.
Mrs. Vera Beil was in-
volved in an auto accident
Wednesday of last week in
Rule as she was traveling
toward Haskell. She was hit
from the side by one car and
knocked into the path of
another car. Her car was
badly damaged, but Mrs. Beil
evidently did not receive any
injuries.
Also ill and still a patient in
Shannon Hospital in San
Angelo, is Herbert Baitz of
Ozona, formerly of this
community. On Thursday of
last week, Mr. and Mrs. Bill
Baitz and Billie Joe, Mrs.
Hilda Neumann and Linda,
and Mrs. Adeline Letz went to
San Angelo to visit him.
